I can't tell you the number of behavioral health clinicians who say they wish they had focused more on substance use disorders in their studies and field placements. You can't NOT work with substance use issues if you work with humans. Thanks GI for a great video!

I was shown this video in one of my substance abuse courses this past summer. Like Krystal and Brittany, I will receive my MSW from Fayetteville State University (2023) and I’m also enrolled in the Substance Abuse Certification program. It is my desire to become an LCSW and LCAS. Also looking into being able to practice with dual diagnosis.

This is a must see video for all students trying to figure out which pathway to peruse as they seek to make a different in society and enhance their marketability upon graduation.

Why is it that only brick and mortar schools are considered for Criteria C? My Masters is in Addiction Counseling, which fulfills the requirement of substance use specific curriculum. Yet I had to apply under Criteria A!

The cert board should be able to answer that question. You can contact them here: www.ncsappb.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/combined-LCAS.pdf
