Hey man, I don't ever comment on videos, but I just want to say that you're a gem on KZbin. Your videos are extremely informative and the way you approach teaching is from a very judgement free standpoint. You're a wealth of knowledge my friend, and in the coming years, your channel may very well blow up! Thanks!

A market is a place where buyers and seller meet to trade, buy and sell, products or services. What is called "a bazaar" is the purest form of a market, and there is nothing "bizarre" about it. But a market where you go through an intermediary, or broker, to buy or sell, is not really a market. For in such a case, the broker sets the price at which he will buy from one, and sell to another. Such a system in my opinion is a prelude to a dictatorship, where prices are dictated rather than determined by the forces of supply and demand. In the past, one could call up a brokerage firm and ask for the stock certificates held in one's account to be mailed to him. And then those certificates could be gifted, or sold via an ad placed in the local newspaper, or across a fence, to a neighbour. The market was very real then. But I suppose when many choose to meet at one place to sell the same object, on average, at any given moment, there is a "best offer" to buy, and a "best offer" to sell. Before computers there was usually some guy with a piece of chalk, writing on a board for all to see, what those prices were, and they were constantly changing. Some would ignore the board and simply yell at others what they were willing to buy at. That must have been an awful task to have, especially if one was allergic to dust, to be constantly erasing and writing numbers unto that board. But now that computers are prevalent, how do we know that price movements are not being pre-generated before the market opens? "The price of this particular security will start here, and end there, and in between, follow this path..." ? Who programs those computers? Catwoman?
