What is a postal permit and should you get one?

Today we are covering what a postal permit is and if you need one. There are a bunch of different types, but the main thing you get is being able to print the "stamp" and get discounts on postage. There are many different types of permits and you'll want to check to see if what's available in your area. I have a first-class permit.

Permit indicia is what they are called. You don’t need to buy the software. I use the presort on the USPS Business Customer Gateway. It will check the addresses and then generate a CSV file. Just download a IMDB barcode font for InDesign and do a Mail Merge from the file. Then you can generate a PDF file from it and print.

@@ttms Let me know if you need more info. I can try and see if I can make a little tutorial on how to do it. Also, make friends with your mail clerk at the closest Bulk Mail Center. The guy near me is pretty cool if I just shoot him a PDF of what I'm mailing and he'll let me know if I'm using the right permit number, indicia format, etc.

Wow! This is one of the least informative videos I have ever seen on KZbin. Not well done at all, and you need to get some sleep! Yawning through an entire video, definitely not a confidence booster for the viewer!
