I grew up in Porty in the 60s, 70s and left to go to London in the mid 80s. Went to Towerbank Primary next to the prom. It's hardly changed by the look since I was last there in 2005. I've heard that the Shows have gone and most of the pubs are now closed. During the Glasgow Fair holidays it would be packed and it seemed like everyone was drunk. A great childhood.

Portobello beach is not the only beach in Edinburgh, although it is the biggest. There is also Silverknowes Beach a few miles to the west of Portobello.

To be honest, I'm too used to New Zealand beaches, where everyone is swimming in the sea. The lack of people swimming makes me sad :( I guess the water's not as good?

@@ryanscott6578 I used to live in Porty now in Redcliffe Queensland , and not many folks go i swimming here in Winter.And the temp of the sea here is a lot warmer in our winter than it is in New Zealand in their Summer . A big bit of bullshitting from Ryan i say.
