I just want an old rainbow six, tactical and SINGLE player, or cooperative but not this CoD or CS wannabe

I really fucking hate how the whole "Counter Strike Gambling Offers" thing has become a "Tactical Shooter", especially because the weapons have somehow become LESS impactful than CS:S and the game is more about the whole skinsanity bull. Sure, it has competitive mode, but even that's more of being arcadey in "adad"ing and "tap shooting" (which is a real fuckin stupid way of saying "semi-auto" IMO)

Hey PepperBelly, I would LOVE to see you do an equally detailed video all about Military Simulators. I can't find any long form videos about them and I'm very interested, thank you for the great video and keep up the quality content.

It certainly seemed to be going that root. Once they reveal more of the game, we'll be able to see for sure. Either way, if it plays anything like what they initially showed, it'll be awesome.

The fast transition to ADS ruins games in my opinion. In real life, if you are in a CQB situation, you do not have time to look through your sights. What people don't realize is that the position of the gun is not "hipfire", but rather quickfire/point shooting. If someone were truly hipfiring, the viewmodel would just have the muzzle of the gun pointed outwards.

Are you on Ground Branch? They are trying to create a realistic tactical shooter as well. It's super fun even though it's still only early access. Edit: Yes, just noticed you mentioning Ground Branch.

Thank you Pepper, i feel like people like you and I are the minority here when we say Siege is not a true tactical shooter. It has elements of one but certainly has way too many gimmicky mainstream COD elements in there as well.

Too true. I find it especially amusing how people seem to straight up freak out and start hurling insults the second you begin to mention those similarities. You can downvote me all you want on reddit, but it doesn't hide the truth.

Cant wait to see it, also do a check on the game called Fox Hole, have very interesting game mechanics and it was a game that give me the fell of "i am just one in the crowd" and you cant go full Rambo in it and be effective but everything you do can make difference to your team, its a 120 players game. search for videos on you tube and you see what i mean, its for now free to play until they decide how they gonna charge it.

There's a new Ghost Recon Wild lands Open beta coming up! Please do a video and critique about that new upcoming "Tactical Shooter" and tell us what you think! Also would you consider the Advanced Warfighter series as a tactical shooter series?
@PepperBelly018 жыл бұрын
I'll do my best to play Wildlands, I just happen to be busy during most of its availability. As for Advanced Warfighter, the PC versions - absolutely. I really love those games and they do a fantastic job illustrating what Ghost Recon 1 would look like in modern times.
@Maxelya7 жыл бұрын
Even though R6 Siege cannot excatly be described as a tactical shooter, I still believe it doesn't need "thaht much" changements to "feel" more realistic. For exemple, I was kinda disapointed when I noticed Siege decided to go for the "30/90" ammo system instead of a more realistic "magazine-based" one (even though there is a realistic mode that nobody plays...). I believe this wouldn't hurt the "arcade" feeling of the game while still making it more immersive and true to its roots. But I guess CoD players would understand or something.

Hi, I like your channel and regarding RS Siege I 100% agree with everything you say, in this and other videos. The only little critic I would point out, if I am allowed to do so, is that I think you need to go to the point. I have the feeling that you go around the same things over and over, and repeat the same things a few times. Please don't take me wrong, this is intended to be a constructive criticism, but I believe you could easily say the same thing in half the time, and doing so get more attention from more people (some of us have a short attention span). Cheers.
@PepperBelly018 жыл бұрын
Yup, I have a tendency to do that. I ramble a lot it I don't structure out my videos and just start talking about something. At the same time however, I make my videos more in the style of a podcast I suppose, where I just... talk. No scripts, no real structure, just a topic and shooting from the hip. Personally, I feel it makes it more grounded, like it's a personal conversation going on vs. a disconnected presentation. Could just be me, I'm not sure if anyone else feels that way. There are certainly times where I'll actually write a script or notes to articulate my thoughts and points better. I guess I can put more effort into doing exactly that moving forward.
@Ricardo-vg8is8 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean, I have a youtube channel too and I am always afraid that the more script and structure, the more "to the point" but then it doesn't sound natural and fresh. The more improvisation, the more real, but it tends to get too long. I think the point is to find the right balance between both extremes. And I do a lot of edition too!

Seal Team preceded Rainbow Six.
@PepperBelly018 жыл бұрын
It did, but I don't believe it was called a "tactical shooter" at the time. It did things differently, that's for sure, but from the research I've gathers, Rainbow Six was the first title to actually coin that term, and then it was later applied to other games similar to it in design.
@Kenneth456 жыл бұрын
I agree man, I played the original Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear games and when Ubisoft bought out Redstorm Entertainment, they first made Raven Shield which wasn't great, but at least tried to still be a bit realistic in the same spirit as the original, but then Vegas came out... *barf* And they basically just ruined the Tom Clancy name.

Make no mistake, Escape from Tarkov is a tactical shooter regardless of its setting. The focus on realism, survival, and teamplay helps to define it as such. Plus they've done some fantastic things with movement that I'd like to see in more modern tactical shooters.

From 0% to 100% How realistic SQUAD and its old brother (PR) are pepperbelly?
@PepperBelly018 жыл бұрын
SQUAD, gets really close in its mechanics - I'd say somewhere between 80% - 90%. PR is much older, and uses strange RNG mechanics for shooting, so that'd be around 50% - 60%. The realism there comes from the logistics and team coordination.

Oh haven´t you watched the news recently...no one cares about facts anymore! :P But srly, you´re right when it comes to the original definition of Tactical Shooter but unfortunately that term has changed and I´m afraid you´re fighting against windmills here if you want to revert that. I would suggest you instead start using the term Tactical Simulation. Tactical Shooter then would be the generic term in which every shooter fits that requires tactical thinking, and Tactical Simulation would be the more specific term fitting only for shooters that you described in the video. Like Military Simulation is a subcategory of Military Shooter. Not only would it be more accurate that way, it also would more distinctive and unmistakable ending this discussion once and for all.
@PepperBelly018 жыл бұрын
You know what? I think you're right. It's unfortunate, and still pains me to accept that, but supplementing "tactical shooter" with "tactical simulation" is something I can live with I guess. Even the new SWATNG game currently in development (which I'll cover at some point) defines their game as a tactical police simulator, in line with the "old school tactical shooters." Still... it hurts to describe games like Siege as a tactical shooter. The only problem with this though, is then you're hijacking the term "simulation" since tactical shooters aren't sims... so now you're essentially doing the same thing to actual simulators that arcade shooters are doing to tactical shooters. It's a mess to just change definitions at will because you want to bank on a certain genre. Either way, I'll usually say a game is a "true tactical shooter" or "hardcore tactical shooter."
@c4blew8 жыл бұрын
Well you´re right, to a degree that might actually happen as these terms are often in a kind of flow and every generation has a different understanding of them...but if we again look at the term Milsim, it actually has been pretty consistent over the years and not much watered down. And if I think of Tacsims (see, we already have a cool acronym!^^), it would considerable harder to argue that R6Siege is a Tactical Simulator (without making a fool out of yourself :D) than it is to say: "It´s a shooter and it´s tactical, so it´s by definition a Tactical Shooter!" If you´re not aware of the original definition that later definition might actually make more sense to you than the original definition. After all the shooter genre was a lot less diverse when the term was invented and what worked back then doesn´t necessarily work for the more diverse genre of today... But by saying true or hardcore you´re already bringing a judgement to the table, implying that the shooter they´re playing is not worth or tactical (enough) and making it impossible for them to differentiate from the run&gun folks that are not playing tactical at all...maybe thats even the whole motivation of hijacking that term!? Maybe they just want a definition, their own little space?! Idk Either way I feel it´s wiser to rename that category than to fight all the people who don´t agree with the original definition anymore. It´s better for us because we can pinpoint what game we are talking about and Tactical Simulation is pretty much self explanatory, leaving no doubts about the nature of the game...and it gives less realistic shooters, with mechanics that encourages tactical playing, the room to differentiate from all the CoDis games out there that don´t actively encourage tactical gameplay...so win win! :D
