very well explained vid as always ! however i'd like to ask about the fonction of the anti static device?
@everythingvalves Жыл бұрын
Here is a comment I made in the past about it. Anti-static devices are very important. The valve would still fully function without the device. However, without it you risk friction potentially causing heat or sparks. Which could lead to a fire or worse depending on the medium running through the valve. Hope this was helpful. Thanks for watching.

This valve didn't have anti-blowout option in stem. Can you please confirm it?
@everythingvalves Жыл бұрын
Good question. This valve does have an anti blow out proof stem. The design maybe a little different than other manufacturers. The stem has a larger OD at the bottom and can not pass through the stem bushing. The stem bushing is bolted to the body which will prevent the stem from blowing out. Check out minute 6:55 for more details. Hope this was helpful. Thanks for watching and the comment.

That was not stem bushing, that was top cup with stem bushing in it and stem o-rings in it. Video quiet good, actually.

Should i grease reagularly ball valves? aprox 10" in diameter
@everythingvalves2 жыл бұрын
Applying grease can be tricky. Many factors come into play. How often is the valves used, what is medium running through, etc. The best practice is to grease only in emergency applications and before operating the valve. To much grease can sometimes lead to issues. Hope this helps. Thank you for the comment.
@ChuPiGroSo6782 жыл бұрын
@@everythingvalves They are used for natural gas, usually are always opened. I’ve recommended to every 6 months to close and open them to avoid getting stuck, but nothing else is done. I was doubting if they should be greased, thanks for the info

What are the Advantages of providing Anti-static design to valves, and what would happen if we ignore the same?

@@everythingvalves Thanks for the response, I have one more question, As per API 6D the trapped gas pressure in valve body cavity shall be not more than 133% of rates pressure class, in order to prevent this condition we use a pressure equaliser to send excess pressure either upstream or downstream. My question is, how the pressure equaliser works to prevent excess pressurisation of valve body cavity?
@everythingvalves2 жыл бұрын
@@mohdabidshaikh12 that’s a multi answer question. One example can be using self relieving seats on Trunnion ball valves. With this feature the seats will relieve trapped pressure to the downstream side preventing thermal expansion. If you have more specific questions please feel free to contact us via email. Thanks for your questions, I hope this helps.
