@@rayhanehmiri3090 just got my surgery on Tuesday. I was pretty scared going into it but it really wasn't that bad. They gave me a special nerve block so I haven't had any pain and my knee is still numb 4 days after surgery.

Thanks so much for the video, I’m scheduled for ACL reconstruction and I also think during my waitlist time I also injured my Meniscus cos my inner right knee is painful and difficult to walk especially after sitting for a long time. Thanks to your video, I feel I am very much prepared and know what to expect.

Thank you for sharing this. Your surgery experience sounds like a dream honestly. When I woke up after ACL surgery I puked every 10 minutes for the following 5 hours, which brought my heart rate down to less than half of my normal heart rate. The nurses were horrified and said it was the worst anesthesia reaction they've ever seen 😅

This was helpful to watch and help compare how my surgery went. I recently got acl reconstruction and part of my meniscus repaired 4 days ago. I was not relaxed for the nerve block and felt so much pain when receiving the injection 😭. However, after it was over I was able to relax and was awake to move myself onto the surgery table and then passed out. I do not remember how the anesthesia was done but I also woke up slowly and was in so much pain. I honestly think my pain was the worst when I woke up from my surgery but then lowered later the day and the next couple of days weren’t so bad. I’m on day 4 post op and the pain is getting manageable and feel I am recovering alright. However I did start some PT today and was a bit hard. I have heard that it gets better and easier later and that is what I hope for. Thank you for your video.

What 😢 😭😭 it’s gonna pain ? How much on scale 1-10 ?
@jackyolaguez8355
@jackyolaguez8355 4 ай бұрын
@@vinitadeshmukh1534 I guess for me the nerve block was painful because when I was getting it, my thigh and leg were not being relaxed anymore since I hate needle, injections, and sharp objects. It felt like a 7.5/10 pain for me since I was also cramping from not being relaxed while being injected. And then when I woke up from surgery, it was severely painful. I would say it was a 10/10 painful if not 11/10. I did not cry or tear or tried not to, but for others they probably have a higher or lower pain tolerance so it can differ between people. However the pain will go down slowly and if you take your medications and ice it, it can reduce the pain level.

How are you doing now???and how soon after surgery did you start quad activation or leg raises?
@krissy5394
@krissy5394 5 ай бұрын
I had the surgery, went well. But I didn’t have a very motivated or attentive PT afterward and I’m still struggling after 7 months. My quad is very weak, my knee buckles when I walk and I have a clunking with with step. I asked my surgeon at the 6 month recheck what to do. He said BFR blood flow restriction therapy, HA injections and PRP injections. So I started the HA and next the others hoping I’ll run again. The original PT had me doing leg raises about 1 month after. I could barely walk without crutches month 3, then with a cane for another 2 months. It’s been very depressing and my leg muscle looks and feels like a wet noodle still.
@nessa90
@nessa90 5 ай бұрын
@krissy5394 sorry to hear that..I hope these other injection treatments help you ..but why couldn't you walk??was it because of the muscle being weak still by the 3rd month?or was it still painful to try to walk??is your leg still relatively smaller than your other leg after 7 months??

I’m curious about some of the practical moments of your days post-op - how did you navigate stairs, how did you bathe, could you get the leg wet, how did you dress (pull on socks without bending your knee), navigate using the toilet (sorry, don’t mean to be too personal). Thanks for all the information you have shared.
@VictoriaDorsano
@VictoriaDorsano 11 ай бұрын
Great questions! I used crutches to hop up and down stairs. Showered with a trash back taped to my leg and got a shower stool to sit on while showering. I got the leg wet after the first 4 days. I was allowed to bend my knee right after surgery so socks weren’t an issue. For the toilet, I unlocked my brace to sit down and pushed up on a ledge to stand back up.

For guys, I suggest shaving your legs the day before. I felt bad that I made the nurse have to do it in the pre-op room. And obviously it would have saved some time, too.
@ghettosheep
@ghettosheep Жыл бұрын
Don't feel bad (and also don't shave yourself)! Shaving an area you don't normally shave can lead to cuts, which can get infected. The surgeon/nurses will handle this and are totally used to it. Mine even specifically asked that I not shave it myself.

Thank you so much for your content. I am now a subscriber of yours! Question for you, when you were diagnosed with the Hoffa fat pad complication, how was that resolved for you? I’m month 5 post-opt and spoke to my surgeon today. He’s ordered an MRI due to this sharp pain I experience randomly when I’m walking or bend my knee and hope to learn soon what may cause this pain. I also have range of motion limitation so he is thinking is scar tissue getting in the way. Thank in advance.
@VictoriaDorsano
@VictoriaDorsano Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no one had any resolution for the fat pad issue, so I had to figure it out on my own! I basically just rested it for a week or two, iced every day, and took some NSAIDs until it calmed down.

I completely destroyed my ACL training BJJ, tore it completely apart of both bones and a partial tear in my PCL and of coarse my meniscus. So does that mean my recovery time will take longer? I just got my surgery date which is still 5 weeks away.
