What is Afa?
Afa can be said to be a deity and at the same time an ancient divination and knowledge system.
As a deity, Afa is revered as the mouthpiece and leader of the vodun deities. It is second to God in Vodun and Orisa pantheons.
As a divination system, Afa reveals what had happened in the past, tells about what is happening presently, and what would happen in the future. In short, Afa knows about the past, the present and the future.

The language is called Ewe. It is spoken in Easterten parts of Ghana, Togo and Benin. It is in the gbe family of languages which includes Fon.
