Afforestation, explained. Unlike reforestation, afforestation is the planting of trees where forests never existed before. It is basically planting new forests, where forests never existed before, or perhaps have not existed for many centuries.
There are many benefits to this, like creating jobs, increasing biodiversity and sequestering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. There are three main mechanisms to do this - such as natural regeneration, silviculture, and agroforestry.
Some nations, like China, and international projects, like the Great Green Wall, are using afforestation to improve the lives of people and reduce the desertification of their land. In Iceland, trees were cut down many centuries ago by the Vikings. Now, Iceland is exploring ways to incorporate afforestation projects into their land management to improve the health of their ecosystems.
This must be a good thing, right? Well... it's not that simple. Afforestation is a tool available to us and to combat climate change and improve human health. Watch the video to learn more!

We are a family doing our best for the environment, we are growing more plants, we make SEED BOMBS and my grandsons throw them in open spaces, we make and teach online how to make ECO BRICKS, planters out of waste material lying in the house, from cardboard boxes, old footballs, basketball balls etc, we are popularising use of SEED PENCILS AND PENS, so that NO TREES are cut to make pencils and SAY NO TO PLASTIC by using seed pens

You guys should really start talking about the meat industry too. You can plant a zillion trees, but if we don't reduce our meat consumption it's of no use. Anyway thank you for your efforts 👍 👌 ❤️ 🌍
