What is Alde motorhome heating?

What heating system do you have? Did it play a role in which motorhome or caravan you bought?

Ebersbaecher Hydronic in a Westfalia campervan. Actually very similar to the Alde system (radiators and underfloor heating). The Glycol plastic tank is even supplied by Alde!

We have underfloor heating in out Westfalia Sven Hedin absolutely love it. Think it's an Alde system 🤔

The alde (or other hydronic systems) is the best - tried them all over the years. Main reasons are quiet and evenly distributed heat. Also important is grade 3 insulation for British winters in the snow

I felt we were conned . I read up on the Alde heating before we bought our Kontiki . Very misleading information from Swift at the time , 2022, that implied the Alde Heat Exchanger was included . After purchasing the Kontiki and waiting a year for delivery , Swift did not include the heat exchanger . I am not impressed with the basic system as I find it takes too long to heat the van in the winter . It is noticeable that quite a few Kontiki owners are now fitting diesel heaters .

Thanks for the shout out guys very funny. Tinkering is more like a hobby. I do enjoy like the learning and think of it like a man shed with wheels. like all things if you keep on top of it then hopefully last longer and give us more care free holidays. PS we have trauma blown heating. No experience of anything else but I like the simplicity of this very few parts

Matt good subject on the alde heating living in a static I wonder if there diesel heater would keep them warm as it could be a massive market for them

We used to have Eperspãchar (Espar) while driving and working in the East during winter: they are fantastic but the Alde also sounds gpod, too. Could you do a comparison, maybe? Thanks you, two!

It is generally accepted that the manufacturer offering the best insulation is Kabe from Sweden. They're now imported in the UK under the Coachman name.

Tell Caroline it's the isolation switch probably under the sink push in cover panel, there will be 4 x switches ! Probably been turned off for a habitation check. It happened to us on an early outing off grid, it was ruddy freezing 🥶 Cheers Simon in Cannock . . .

You have to ask yourself if the temperature outside is -35C, is it really a holiday anymore? I like camping in the Alps but that would be too cold

I’ve done -8 degrees in Italy skiing and it was oddly not cold like at home. But yes, -35 degrees would not attract me! But for some people that’s a norm.

Great show thanks guys. After watching it left me with a few questions about the diesel heating, are Alde looking to sell a standalone unit or create a new option for their existing product line, are they moving away from gas or will the new product be multi fuel. I ask because we’re looking to get a diesel heater fitted soon due to problems getting gas (turns out Gadget John prediction was right) but limited on payload, changing the Alde system on our motorhome might be the perfect solution

Matt it would be a lot safer than gas 25 litres stainless tank outside side think it would be safer
