Imagine the revolutionary idea it is. Computer will identify the pattern, put stoploss, do the trade. No error of psychology! If everyone does it, the market will meet a bottleneck. If only one does it, he will own the market. Both situations are not acceptable. Stock Mkt will be doomed.

I agree with Sudhanshu. Stock market is a zero sum game. For a trader that wins someone is losing somewhere. Algo trading cannot be a fool proof system that can generate profits consistently for all traders. If there are no losing trades then where will the money to pay for winning trades come from?

Hi, Thanks for your video! I wonder if you've given thought to this strategy: often traders lose money because their stop loss gets hit and the price bounces back but the trader is no longer holding that position. What if you can write code that upon your stop loss sale, you place a limit order to buy back at the sale price? And then on the upside, you set a trailing stop loss (and if the trailing stop loss gets hit, you’d also place a limit order to rebuy the stock at the stop loss price) This strategy essentially limits your downside and lets you participate more fully on the upside, and takes the “art” out of guessing the optimal stop loss and take profit price levels. I wonder if you’ve ever considered this strategy and if you see any problems with it. Thanks in advance for your response :)

Great video - however, writing algos and trading with a bot is NOT simple and easy. I'm an ex-programmer and I've spent 2 days trying to get the TWS API to connect to Python and have had no success. I'd love to see the 'simple and easy to understand' videos on how to do this, which you promise at 14:20.

Most won't read this long comment. But for those who do, in my opinion, if one is getting into algo trading before mastering manual trading, he's basically trying to build rome in a day. It doesn't work that way. And although the 70% trading is algorithmic, its done by those who know what they are doing. It does sound very simple to make a strategy, automate it and make money while you are working at your job, but trust me, it is way difficult than it sounds. Otherwise every Tom, Dick and Harry would have been making money in the markets. Think twice before entering if you have not mastered manual trading!

Algorithmic trading is not simple. Designing the algorithms require hardcore knowledge about mathematics. Executing algorithmic trading based on poor analysis will magnify losses beyond proportion. There should have been caution in this video for anyone who doesn't know algorithmic trading. There are entire quant desks with brilliant people searching alphas in the market.. You need constant market research because no strategy is full proof... The window of opportunity closes in very quickly

I think trading is more of an art combined with psychology rather than just letting a computer system execute trades based on preset rules or something more advanced like a. AI system. I do not follow fixed rule based strategy every day but follow the market's behaviour to trade. I do not know how can I code my method that I tweak slightly based on the market into a rule based trading system. However, my system works perfectly for me
