I love doing an EMOM where I add 5 or 10 pounds to the lift every minute. To see how long you can last. Power cleans and deadlifts are my favorites for this.

so Amrap is as many rounds as possible? or as many reps? both are extremely different distinctions. So many diff definitions.

I thought amrap was more like 1st round = 1 rep (5 swings, 5 burpees, 100m run) 2nd round = 2reps 3rd round = 3 reps And so on... man ive been killing myself all wrong... Mostly i did this because i didnt want to stop and hit the next round button on my app every rep.

Question if you dont finish you prescribed exercise with in the 1 min do you make it up with no break or what?
@ajaybutwani84334 жыл бұрын
obviously
@areyoufit90474 жыл бұрын
You start over. So in this example you would go right back into doing 15 burpee’s. If you don’t finish then oh well. But at this point you might consider scaling back on your burpee’s. Maybe 10 burpee’s every minute instead of 15.
@wonjoo58854 жыл бұрын
Both of these replies are correct If you dont finish the prescribed workload within the minute then finish it in 2 minutes, and then go ahead and finish your movement every 2 minutes so whatever will be left of these 2 min is your rest The other way of scaling is For example you tried 12 handstandpushups but within a minute you were able to finish 7 Then scale your workout based on that 7 and decrease these 7 by 2 so you do 5 every minute so you can do 5 reps each minute and always have a bit of rest for a few minutes and from there on you can improve with the reps
@Me-nt6ww3 жыл бұрын
You would need to scale it back. Otherwise, you’re doing burpees for 15mins straight 😬

Wouldn’t AMSAP be a better name ( as many sets as possible)? When I heard the acronym spelled out I immediately thought rounds/reps meant going to failure on the exercise switch to the next one and go to failure then come back to the first one to go to failure again etc. The explanation cleared that up for me but the initial association I had was work to failure.
@ohitzwavy71732 жыл бұрын
AMSAP would mean you’re doing x amount of sets AMRAP(which you should do on your last set typically) is in the name you’re doing as much reps as you can do in that one set

Are EMOM done to failure?
@prestongehrig28242 жыл бұрын
You can, usually EMOMs are done with a 10 minute timer but you can do any timer
