Looks and sounds amazing, it should do at that price. Is there no sign wave for voice or lfo ? ? There’s no pitch and modulation wheels. If only it had a natural walnut wood casing : ) … think I’ll stick with my Stylophone.
@StarskyCarr Жыл бұрын
No, you can only get a sine by reducing the filter. But it’s not as flexible as having a dedicated wave. Not many synths do tbh. But normally you might have a triangle. The 2 CV touch strips can be used as mod/pitch wheels.. and I’m sure they’d make one in walnut if you asked nicely 😀
@FUNKINETIK Жыл бұрын

As much as I’d want a new Oberheim Eight Voice, it would be a lot more work to set up something polyphonic. Nowadays, the tuning of each SEM for a uniform sound can definitely be done better. But after hearing the Maximus, it reminds me that nothing sounds as thick and rich as eight full monosynth voices playing together. It would be more work, but the unmatched sound quality just might outweigh all that hassle.

Sounds great. Truly a massive sound. Surely a future classic. But honestly that panel would put me off, as decorative as it is. I'd rather have a more humble seperate poly and a more humble mono so I'm not having to adjust all those parameters if I decide I want to switch things up. It's always a balance between how much time to spend on sound design and actually writing music isn't it? Money and space no object tho, I'd have some good fun with this

Yes, buddha is waiting and watching, and is not an outside being cause it's our true nature of our minds. The ultimate wisdom we do not pay attention to, so we practice. It's said that it's within all of our grasps in a single lifetime. "Buddha" is an honorific as "awakened" and tathagata is "thus gone one", which is also an allusion to the idea of "stream entrant" that has "crossed to the other shore". gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha or “Gone, gone, gone to the other shore beyond. O what an awakening, all hail!” this is the mantra at the end of the Heart Sutra uttered by Avalokiteśvara which uses the imagery of "stream entrant". It's also translated as “Gone, gone, gone all the way over, everyone gone to the other shore, enlightenment, hail!" The imagery is pretty much the same. Buddha mind or tathagatagarba, is within us, and we can all cross to the other shore. Metaphorically speaking of course.

A beautiful sound, a superb synth....... but a rather impractical unit at that size and price (£20k.) Who will actually buy it? Not the people who'd make best use of it that's for sure....Except for Jarre or Kraftwerk! I would have also said Vangelis and Mark Shreeve but we've now lost their incredible talents from future music. RIP. That initial sound would work well with reverb on Autobahn!.....Please, pleeeeease, don't anyone mention Garry Numan, he's not in the same league..... Very much a 4th division player..... a last resort, injured sub even! Analogue-digital hybrids allowing many memory slots is now a must for modern usability; Behringer have realised this and will be the go to mainstream manufacturer with their future releases I reckon! ...They just need to get the form-factor right and make more non-Eurorack sized (larger) tabletop units to wow the adult users. Roland too messed up totally by making their Boutique series so tiny, toy-like, instead of a grownup's larger format tabletop unit! Such a waste because the units are actually musically superb. They've spoilt it by the ridiculously silly micro controls, making the essential-to-use fine adjustments too fiddly. There is a strict "no rambling-on" policy on the comments page!
@lumpytapioca5062 Жыл бұрын
Pretty. Fussy. Unmodifiable and set in stone. It's like trying to make a bus by welding 8 cars together. Yeah, you get eight steering wheels but why... They'll make maybe three of them.
