What Is Animal Rights? | Vegan Teaches Students | Lecture on Veganism

Animal rights are moral principles grounded in the belief that non-human animals deserve the ability to live as they wish, without being subjected to the desires of human beings. At the core of animal rights is autonomy, which is another way of saying choice. In many countries, human rights are enshrined to protect certain freedoms, such as the right to expression, freedom from torture, and access to democracy. Of course, these choices are constrained depending on social locations like race, class, and gender, but generally speaking, human rights safeguard the basic tenets of what makes human lives worth living. Animal rights aim to do something similar, only for non-human animals.
Animal rights come into direct opposition with animal exploitation, which includes animals used by humans for a variety of reasons, be it for food, as experimental objects, or even pets. Animal rights can also be violated when it comes to human destruction of animal habitats. This negatively impacts the ability of animals to lead full lives of their choosing.

There are two reasons why vegans comprise a fraction of one percent of the population: The main reason is due to humans’ failure to care about what they put into their own bodies - as long as it tastes good, who gives a damn about the consequences to one’s own health or the ethical concerns regarding other creatures or the environment? The other reason is due to vegan advocates and animal rights activists being inept in their understanding of morality as well as their abysmal grasp of human physiology. Almost every single vegan activist I know of wrongly believes that we are omnivores, and they are clueless in respect to metaethics and applied ethics. But that is not the most unfortunate thing about the matter. The saddest thing is that there is hardly a single vegan activist even willing to spend an hour or so to learn proper diet and meta-ethics with the World Teacher Himself, Jagadguru Svāmī Vegānanda, despite him freely offering to do so on his social media platforms. 😩

Switching to a more meat/protein based diet was one of the primary reasons our ape ancestors became so smart. Meat contains proteins and amino acids that are vital for the growth and function of large brains. There have actually been several studies in the last few decades that show that children who are raised on vegan diets have less developed brains then those raised on high meat diets.

Seed Protection: Some plants have evolved seeds with hard shells or pits that are indigestible for animals, ensuring the seeds are eventually dispersed away from the parent plant. 7. Symbiotic Relationships: Some plants form mutually beneficial relationships with specific animals, like birds or mammals, that become their primary seed dispersers. 8. Timing: Fruit ripening is often synchronized with the availability of animals that can disperse seeds, ensuring the fruit is eaten when the seeds are ready for dispersal. Most farmed plants are killed before they will naturally disperse their seeds. Humans do also not defecate onto soil. Humans defecate in toilets. Plants do not grow in sewers!
