I started using an accu tak bipod on my AI. Awesome combination. Seeing some chipping of the cerakote on the rail of the AI as a result of taking it on and off. Is this just normal wear in your experience? Thanks. Appreciate your content.

How is this different from a picatinny rail? In fact, since it doesn’t look like it can positively lock onto the rail, other than by friction vs. the ladder-to-teeth of the pic rail, it might be a draw back for equipment with high recoil impulse u. Might be more than enough for cameras, but can it stand the recoil of a .300WM without shifting? What are its advantages over the pic rail?

the fast adjustment was not something previously able to be attained with pic rail, Arisaka just released a clamp system that can offer that same adjustability but that was JUST released. if you look at the arca rail on the seekins it has grooves on the side that their clamp locks into. if you look on more recent RRS and area 419 are rail it has small detents cut into the bottom of it where pillars apply a stop to the bipod or their clamp into the bottom. the flat bottom also sits better against bags and barricades and doesn't rock as much as the thinner pic rail and has a much larger surface area. We have been shooting large magnums off of it for quite some time with zero issues all the way up to 338. with some shooting 50 as well.
