I remember Awana. But, I was lousy with remembering Bible verses. I never got very far in terms of progression. Nowadays, I just remember a few key words in a Bible verse and start using a search engine until I find the verse I was looking for.

I was the Awana Commander on my club and I was lousy too. Most of the verses I remember I memorized as a kid. I enjoyed the opportunity to teach the kids though, some of which I’ve had the opportunity to grow into fine adults, in my humble opinion. I just pray that Awana helps them out along their journey.

I was a member of Awana at Phoenix Southern Baptist church as a child. It built a GREAT foundation for my faith.

Sounds like Vacation Bible School, except more boring.

Jessie Eermit VBS is generally one week in the summer time. Awana meets once a week throughout the year. You can get much deeper into the Bible in Awana than you can at VBS. If you just want a week of fun, VBS is the way to go. If you want a fun way to study the Bible with an opportunity to earn college scholarships, Awana wins, hands down!
