NASA just released a new photograph shot from some satellite or something from behind the Moon so that the Earth looks way larger than it should be and Twitter went crazy about that it is "obviously" fake. They should see this video. Nice and clear explanation. Like

8:45 Here a fun fact is that the shape of the earth surface is round so in photography or in telescopes we will miss the object but in a blank space this is true. Nice Explanation by the way.

Fantastic explanation. Another way to visualize this same principle is the different apparent motion of objects relative to your own when you're moving: traveling on the highway in a car, buildings and trees appear to fly by as you pass them but distant mountains barely seem to move. Given that you are traveling at a constant velocity, it should be described by that same curve you showed. Nearby objects would seem to move very fast while distant objects appear to move slower and slower but never actually reaching 0.

Thx! Well I know there are some lens addons that you can attach to a smartphone camera giving you a longer focal length - sort of. You could try that but don’t expect results on par with what can be achieved with a proper camera and lens

how far away you must be from the subject regarding the focal length, example for the photo of the moon and eifel tower, if it was taken with a 600mm you must be XX km from the tower....... is there a rule or something?

I’m a beginner btw) when I try to take a picture of the moon and a tree, the tree is usually out of focus and then when I focus the lens on the tree the moon is out of focus how do I make them both focused?

Either go further back from the tree or close down the aperture. You need to have the tree past the hyperfocal distance. You can find it out in an app like „PlanIt”. Alternatively just take two photos and focus-stack them in photoshop. I have videos about PlanIt and focus-stacking on my channel as well!

How do you get the foreground subject and the Moon to be in focus? if I focus on the foreground subject then the Moon is out of focus and if I focus on the Moon then the foreground subject is out of focus.....help!!!!

the picture you dont know where it was shot from, was taken from La Tour Montparnasse, a skyscraper (the onlyone in that direction) almost in front of Eiffe Tower but several blocks away. it a must location if you go to Paris, I went there in 2016 in my second visit to and the spot is great because you can obviously see the eiffel tower (if you are in the eiffel tower you cant see it, of course haha) and you can take a picture with a big sun behind the tower as you perfectly explain in your video, I would say if you are on a budget and you want to to see paris from above, go o this spot instead of the Eiffel tower. I have a picture from there at sunset and other that I took at night to the Notre dame cathedral from there in my instagram @vitopastorini , just in case you want to stop by my account and see them cheers from Chile!
