The fact is that Blizzard (Aggrend) has no idea what they are doing in terms of balancing. I understand that there is no testing PTR for this season but this does not excuse them to not run their own numbers in a simple Excel spreadsheet. Why must we discover that things like Explosive Shot in P1 are completely broken? Why are hunter melee runes so severely overturned that not even the enormous armour values can't counteract them? Why is an instant 6-second CD, 100% spell scaling Starsurge ability so overturned that it literally one-shots players not picked up before the phase ships to the live servers? The list can go on. It raises questions about Blizzard's competence or whether these imbalances are intentional to drive excitement and prompt players to switch to the flavour of the month class, only to repeat the cycle after subsequent nerfs. The best-performing class does draw in the best-performing players after all.

I feel like the armor buff was a knee jerk reaction to casters sucking in P1, and just like most knee jerk reactions in the history of Blizzard it was way too much. Then again caster vs. physical balance will continue to be weird in SoD due to boss fight lengths and mana working how it does, do you balance mana consumption for progression? for farm? for speedkills? Or just make it obsolete like it is in retail?
