What Is Blue Origin’s New Glenn Landing Plan?

Blue Origin is in the process of manufacturing and testing various New Glenn hardware with the goal of launching for the first time next year. This next-generation launch vehicle has been under development for over a decade now and features a large design, payload capacity, reusable first stage, and other complex features. All of which have contributed among other reasons, to the extensive development of this hardware.
One particular area of interest for many has been the first stage downrange landing pad. In this case, as we have seen with the Falcon 9, certain missions require a landing platform in the ocean as the first stage doesn’t have enough propellant to return all the way back to land. In Blue Origin’s case, the plan for this process has changed quite a bit over time.
What started as a massive cargo ship meant to be converted into a mobile landing platform, changed to drone ships similar to SpaceX. This being said, following Blue Origin’s theme of keeping a lot of info to themselves, we haven’t heard practically anything on these platforms in a long time. Here I will go more in-depth into Blue Origin’s landing plan, the initial difficulties, progress, and more.

@antman8467 New Glenn will just need to get the payload going in the right direction. All of the difficult deep space maneuvers, long-distance communication, capturing into Mars orbit, etc. will be done by the EscaPADE spacecraft itself, which is based on the Rocketlab Photon bus. And Rocketlab has proven their deep space capabilities with CAPSTONE already.

Are they scaling up production now? I saw a rather small hall, filled with elemental parts and pieces. After 12 years, i must say: they have come far. Will they rent another hall to scale up horting of the parts now?

Still going to have bad payload without a catch tower. Gona need to really dial in the cost of carrying the extra fuel to land and not destroy the legs, then cost and time to refurb. They’re designing something that’s already behind starship.

Just because SpaceX chooses a certain recovery method doesn't mean that it's the most efficient or the only way that will work. Falcon 9 has legs and doesn't have a "bad payload".

Almost NO rocket makes it into orbit the first try ! I think this has been achieved only one time by a new company, and only recently. Actually, i should formulate that different. No rocket builder has reached orbit by the first shot. The flying phallus doesnt count as it was never intended to even fully reach space. And still, it is easy to reach space, as is said, but its very much harder to get into orbit. If bezos still hasnt understood this, then he will soon find out the meaning of his companies name.

Considering that Blue Origin initially sued SpaceX for the barrage landing concept and lost, it demonstrates the difference in mentality at SpaceX for not suing Blue Origin for contracting with LAD Services for a "a nut and bolt copy of their previous SpaceX barges." It nice to see a company that isn't excessively litigious.

BlueOrigin had the patent for landing on a "sea going platform" before SpaceX ever thought of doing it and then SPACEX sued to invalidate that patent. After SpaceX partially won a preliminary hearing, BlueOrigin decided to let SpaceX do their thing and filed a motion to cancel 13 out 15 of the patents claims, instead of presenting counter arguments for why their patent should prevail, which would have dragged out SpaceX's lawsuit. And since SpaceX themselves had sued and argued that you couldn't patent this technology because it had already previously been explored by researchers AND BlueOrigin held the patent, not SpaceX, there's absolutely no way SpaceX could sue BlueOrigin on this issue.
