I experienced this. I had years of talk therapy for CPTSD with a few different therapists and one day I realized there was just something I couldn’t get to in my mind or my past through talk therapy. I went to a therapist certified and experienced in EMDR (a close relative had great benefit from it) but after some education and discussion, we decided to do brain spotting. The brain spotting therapy was very intense, but changed my life. Not overnight, but more quickly than I could have hoped. Somehow there is a shift in my perception of the world for the better. I will never regret doing it and hope everyone who can benefit from it is able to do it.

Sounds like part of the process of EMDR and Mindfulness. Ibuse these approaches with my clients and ask people to stay in those moments to to process the visceral responses.

Hello, my name is Sarah. I suggest looking into automatic writing. I believe that brainspotting and automatic writing have something in common. In short, your science eliminates the paranormal associated with this technique. I would love to talk to you two about my findings. I think we might really be able to help each other in research. Regards, Sarah Doney

Any chance to explain why trauma gets locked in? Why would it do this? What does it serve to do this? You'd think it would be the opposite, to let it go and out. Multiple traumas could become locked in which would be quite unhealthy.

I now have a client who has even more trauma after a brain spotting session. She had a headache for a week and a migraine for two days. She did not sleep and dies not want to sleep any longer. Suggestions?
@tracymoreno59942 жыл бұрын
My therapist stressed the importance of completely processing emotional response down to a bout a 2 on a 2-10 scale. She said if that isnt achieved you can spiral, it sounds like this client wasn’t processed all the way down after finding a spot.

Is this something that can be done virtually in an effective way?
@sama.76973 жыл бұрын
I'm currently seeing a therapist that does brain spotting, it's both talk therapy and also brain spotting and it's virtual. I can let you know how it goes once I experience it!

@@sama.7697 So what’s the experience been like for you?
@sama.76972 жыл бұрын
@@SakuBunny Hi! Thank you for asking, it has been very good. I was diagnosed with PTSD mid-college semester. My therapist and I worked with brainspotting. It helped me process my trauma and I was able to let go of so much that my body held onto for years. I highly recommend it.

Sounds like it would over time. This healing process isnt ever as quick as we want it.

I have done this on my own. I am in tune with my self awareness enough to realize, change my own thought patterns, and continue to hold onto the belief system is when it gets challenged. Inevitably it will alot.
