We gave away over nine hundred books at the Hushville library and met hundreds of delighted burners who really loved books. Topics ranged from erotica to sheet metal and welding and it was really fun to hear a yelp of discovery when someone found a book they liked. Gifting is such a trip.

Great video! It’s encouraging to see a first time burner who actually went to the playa to participate in creating an art project and probably was part of a really cool camp. I commend you for that, quite a contrast to many of the newbies who come out to their first burn simply to party, and to be entertained, sort of being spectators rather than participants. For many people that’s natural, they don’t know anything different than that, especially if they have only been to Coachella or for the spring break college crowd who hasn’t really been out there to explore the world of possibilities. . I wasn’t on the Playa this year but have been 10 previous years and it’s interesting to observe it from a distance during the years I’m not there. I see it through peoples videos that they post, and also by listening to BMIR… that’s Burning Man Information Radio, the voice of the man, the voice of black rock city. it’s a great way to get the pulse of the burn, whether you are there or not. When I’m at Burning Man I usually tune into that radio station late at night to find out weather, traffic, updates on theme camps, special events and tea parties etc. etc. lots of fun can be found on the radio. This year I actually called in from the default world here in Arizona. I didn’t expect to be put on the air, I was interviewed about my experiences having been on a film crew and also having them one of the drivers of a significant art car that was there a few years in a row. Thanks again for your video good editing and your really positive and mature perspective on the festival, thanks for not just furthering the myths that it’s a bunch of goofy sparkle ponies, you are so far beyond that.

Or barter-system based? Thanks!
@charleydorn2 жыл бұрын
I think it’s fine if you use it as long as you’re not making any money or it’s not associated with a brand. Yes, everything is free, except for ice which you can buy at center camp. It’s not bartering since you’re not expected to give anything in return if you’re given something or vise versa.
