Business Jets are a Tool for Corporations and Business Owners and Wealthy People to buy back their time and get places more directly. Time is more valuable than money time money can be spent and lost and gained back, Time never comes back. Jets allow this time to be utilized more efficiently.

As an Aicraft engineer i often fly on cargo planes from the airline who are scheduled or specialy chartered just for us engineers to unload including the tools and spareparts. Also alot of engineers in the oil industry fly also mostly on (chartered) cargo planes. You could say the cargo planes are the business jets for the equipment and we the engineers the hand luggage.

I think you covered nearly everything but you could emphasise the point that a company in a small city with very few connections (or even no commercial airport at all) has very slow travel options to another secondary city. e.g. Salina (KS) to Redding (CA) is a minimum 12.5 hour commercial flight (3 stops) plus an hour wasted at the first airport. As the whole day is wasted each way, a single meeting could require two nights' stay at the destination, giving a total trip time of 64 hours or so. However, the distance is just 1,318 miles, which is a 3-hour direct flight in a decent jet. This could allow a return trip all in the same day and an overall travel time of 12 hours - 52 hours saved!

Our firm has to send engineers to remote locations to work on power plants, oil fields & dams which are usually reachable by commercial aviation, but flying commercial doing 3 or 4 stops involving changing planes is very exhausting and we can't expect exhausted human beings to be fresh & sharp doing so, we fly them on business jets whenever possible. Just the comfort, room to stretch out, etc. makes the employee recognize that we value them as team members and are able to arrive for work refreshed since we're able to avoid long layovers and most flight delays.

1:13 you've said it all: they're flying limousines... someone needs them just like someone needs a car limousine, but they're more a necessity for corporations not wanting to depend or rely on an airliner's timetable and destinations! On a personal level, I'm more interested in the development of small, 'affordable' GA aircrafts (50k-100k) with an infrastructure built around them...

Although this video is - as always - really great you forget the number one benefit of private jets. Let me explain: The main reason why rich people choose private jet services is not because they want to enjoy their money and take advantage of a super-luxery trip but because in those private jets they meet similar people. If you are worth millions because of a company you built up then it is pretty hard for you to meet like-minded people. Just like exclusive clubs where you pay 30000 euros or dollars membership fee per year private jets are one possibility to do so. The high price serves as a filter to sort out the worthless (okay sounds a little harsh but effectively true). So, although an indiviual flight in private jet might be super expensive, but in case a new business cooperation or a interesting inspiration for how to run a business is exchanged.... well suddendly the private jet not only becomes cheap but a way to actually earn money. A normal airline business class or first class cannot provide this special feature. Rich people see in everything they do an investment opportunity where the average person sees a waste of money or some way to show off.

Meetings abroad, often used by CEO's, travelling in general is something that often can be cut completely or partly by just hosting a online meeting. I mean, we meetings in general are usually a waste of time in general since most things can be stated in a mail rather than gather everyone in one spot and have a hour meeting about something that takes 5 minutes to explain. The same thing with CEO's travelling everywhere, imagine if they could just host a video call instead. Imagine how much money and environmental impact we could save.

You should mention shared "business" jets! You may charter an airplane at almost every bigger airline. Some "business" jets are in fact regular planes of an airline (on paper), the maintenance, pilot training and all logistics are handled by an airline. Some business jet's are in fact airliners with the traditional seating. If you had to move 100-300 workers regularly (ok these companies often build jets themselves) a business jet may be an option. Some airlines are in fact very small planes as in some countries you need registration as an airline if you take even 1 passenger.

It's unfortunate the video didn't mention anything about Netjets and other business jets for hire. Hiring business jets is a world away from buying one, and the justifications for hiring a jet on a once of basis are many e.g. company execs of supermarket chains can quickly visit their new and their biggest stores once a quarter and not lose time.
@vitordelima

The fixed costs of this category are huge, so reducing the total costs per travel means increasing the number of flight hours per year. Companies renting big turboprop airplanes are already competitive in price with first class tickers in commercial airliners, but with most advantages of a private business airplane. Also there are many of those airplanes for sale due to "emotional" reasons at reduced prices. Could bigger rental services for this category become a viable new market (not necessarily only for jets)? As long as businesses get their demands for time satisfied, sharing them in the same travel doesn't seem like a bad idea (psychological factors not considered).

60% of the world business jets are registered in the US. But allot of US registered aircraft aren't based at, and thus their business is at, the us. I work in business aircraft in australia and about half of our aircraft are american registered. I doubt 60% of the business aircraft markets are profited from american companies.

If you are buying a business jet and are concerned about safety you can buy a second hand business jet with an EASA or CASA registration. Not american or Asian or African.

In February 2019, an Argo shareholder issued a press release in which it alleged, among other things, the misuse of Argo assets by Watson, including undisclosed personal usage of corporate aircraft. On April 12, 2019, during a proxy contest with this shareholder in connection with Argo’s May 2019 annual shareholders meeting, Argo filed a definitive proxy statement that failed to disclose over $1 million worth of perquisites, including over $230,000 related to Watson’s use of corporate aircraft. From 2015 through 2019, Argo incorporated its definitive proxy statements into its annual reports by reference. From 2014 through 2018, Argo incorrectly recorded payments for the benefit of, and reimbursements to, Watson as business expenses, and not compensation. As a result, its books, records, and accounts did not, in reasonable detail, accurately and fairly reflect its disposition of assets. In addition, Argo failed to devise and maintain internal accounting controls relating to payments for the benefit of, and reimbursements to, Watson that were sufficient to provide reasonable assurances that transactions were recorded as necessary to maintain the accountability of assets. These failures included, for instance, a practice of providing expense reimbursements to Watson without requiring an adequate explanation of a business purpose for the expense, allowing Watson to approve his own expense reimbursement. Mr. Watson's Personal Chariot Make: Gulfstream: 5 Registration Number: N17ND Serial Number: 518 Lessor: Jetaway Air Service of Muskegon, MI Monthly Payment: $ 175,000 Hourly Reserve Payment: $ 1,250 Average Monthly Payment to Jetaway Air Services (based on recorded flight hours) $250,000 to $300,000 (note: figure does not include crew salaries, airport fees, insurance, and fuel) 4 to 5 million expensed to Argo shareholders each year for the exclusive use of Mark Watson's Personal Chariot - G5.

The real litmus test. Would companies and individuals still buy $60,000,000 business jets if they were not tax deductible? Some company aircraft are being used to fly trouble shooting teams to hard to reach locations. Makes financial sense. A CEO flying his G650 to a ski resort, the Super Bowl or some other popular destination, not so much. These aircraft are time machines. Even Warren Buffet who was against these jets at first finally realized this and bought NetJets. So let’s all agree is a luxury for the rich and famous. Now let’s all agree that these perks should not be tax deductible anymore. Your toy, you pay for it out of your own pocket. If that ever happened world wide Gulfstream and the other private jet makers would be out of business. I know several individuals that own jets and the only reason was: Either buy the jet, write it off 100% the first year or give the money to the IRS. Not much of a choice so I don’t blame them. I’d do the same were I inn their shoes. The tax laws need to be rewritten.
