Greay video! I'm a second generation civil engineer and really thought the video summed it up well. Two items that I think were absent from the video (although I have no idea where they would have fit) are: 1. Public/client interactions are nuanced and challenging. Even civils I know who don't involve themselves with the more public side of the profession still need to have a solid understanding of the public/client concerns to keep the project moving in a constructive direction. 2. There's a large amount of specialization with tools and techniques once you start in the industry. Many excellent engineers I know struggled through school but excelled with the tools in the field, and vice versa. If you can, intern and get as much experience as possible, even in parallel careers like on a construction crew or building maintenance. Great content though, I'm glad this is out there!

I got my bachelor's in Civil Eng last year and already working but this video made me love my major even more. I'm studying to get my Master's degree. Wish me luck.

I'm currently studying architectural engineering. Would love to see a video for architectural engineering as its a niche major that most don't know what its about.

What is it about? That sounds like something I want to do.

I looked it up and it sounds like you basically get to be a architect and structural engineer at the same time. Is that correct?

I graduated with a degree in Environmental Engineering. I actually started with a major in Biochemistry, then switched over to Mechanical Engineering since my school is well-known for their Engineering programs. Plus, I love math (hehe see what I did there;)). Mechanical Engineering proved to be more difficult than I anticipated, so in combination with my growing interest in the environment, I ultimately switched over to Environmental Engineering, which is the field I graduated in.

Please do physics next. I'm trying to convince my parents to let me study physics, but my mom thinks I should do biology instead because she thinks I'm good at it but I really hate biology😢
