I never drank a day in my life, but I must say that I have learned a lot, the aging of VS, VSOP, and XO cognacs, the origin of the word cognac, and the type of white grapes are used for cognacs. And to think I stumbled on this channel after searching for the origin of Hennessy. What an honor to be here, I look forward to coming back. Not always, okay but brandy but whisky, just tried chivas 18yo on xmas day, maybe in still to young & need to grow palate more & I've heard old people say taste changes, both personal & just age, but i didn't exactly live it. To me the 12yo is nicer & then if course is always about money, unless you're super rich, if it's 2% better but triple the price is it worth it, can you seriously justify spending that much more of it isn't amazing...? ​@lore6362

Cognac, armanac etc are all brandy's, just from specific region, just like you can only call it champagne if it's from there (otherwise called cup classic, no sparkling wine is not the same), or parma ham or cheese (proper stuff not powder, tbf rules don't apply.outside of eu on that), but cognac is potstill, always. So it's a fancy brandy from that region to be basic

Mixing any top.quality stuff, brandy, whisky, tequila etc the cheap stuff is scary you use for that. Same with cooking seem this one channel lately where guy just cooks with ultra expensive ingredients, used the suntory 17yo to cook a steak. Guy I know who REALLY knows how to cook, actual told me you want cheap stuff for cooking, certainly flambé, for that high content, so on top of wasting good stuff, it's worse. Shows these people don't know anything & just want to show off

Word Hennessey is dogwater. I like Remy Martin, but there's so many brands I haven't tried. Hine and Meukow are decent. I haven't tried Martell or Courvoisier yet but they look good.
