I lived in the Austin area for 30 years so I know where you are coming from. Moving and building in the Colorado Rockies at 9000' is a totally different ballgame. My current build has a 1.5" clipped snaplock Kynar standing metal seam roof at 3/12 pitch. Here I have NO AC requirements(we had our first frost in late August and first snow today Sept, 27), but see -30F conditions with up to 5' of heavy wet snow. Color is for heat absorption. If the wind exposes the top of a seam, solar gain will dissipate quickly with melting snow at a domino effect. My color of choice is a Dark Chocolate in a very refractive(least reflective) "Crinkle Finish" Kynar. Our market may not be The Metal Roofing Channels target, but it may be a consideration for comparison or discussion.

Hello! I would love to cover more cold weather metal roofing applications, and in fact I'll be flying out to Denver to shoot some more videos in just over a month. There's currently some videos on the channel about snow retention etc., but if there's something specific you'd like to see, please let me know! Thanks for the comment! -Thad

Which system is beat for a cold climate though?

The problem for me with the SRI rating is that Reflectance and Emittance are rated equally whereas it's more about energy transfer. Anyone with insight on this please tell me about it :)

Do you have the SRI/cool roof specifications of your colors? I tried to find it on your website unsuccessfully. Thanks
