CRR help in regulating monetary policy by 1. Enhancing crr rate - reduced money holding with bank- less lending- controlled inflation 2. Reducing crr- increased money holding with bank- more lending- adequate inflation between 4+-2.

Thanks for the video. CRR has gone up from 3% to 4.5% since 2020. what impact can this have on the economy?

Although a very late reply/answer to your question, but better late than never. So when CRR increases it is called as 'Tight Monetary Policy' and when CRR decreases it is referred to as 'Liberal Monetary Policy'. Monetary Policy is nothing but a Policy which is implemented by Central Bank (RBI in case of India) and it comprises of a set of actions to control a nation's overall money supply and achieve economic growth. So the impact of less CRR is banks will have more percentage of deposit with them which will lead to more loan being given leading to more liquidity (money) among people which will lead to more demand for Goods and services and eventually to inflation. So that's why the RBI has increased the CRR percentage so that banks will be required to maintain more money with the RBI. Now I think you can easily answer what if RBI decreases CRR.

sir one question is there in that example , that 4 cr which is fixly deposited into hdfc bank by sbi , can that be called as an asset to sbi bcz it will provide certain interest to sbi ...?...and thanks for these short videoes...😄
