I've been to Cuba 3 times. Love the Cuban people. The 3rd time there we rented a car and drove around the country. Not an easy thing to do. It's not covered by GPS, there's a lack of road signs and we were given a cartoon map. However the locals are very friendly and we would pickup hitchhikers (something we don't do in other countries). They would show us the way. They got a ride to their destination and we got directions. Win win for both parties.

Once again, I had a great time. Beautiful, sparkling clean beaches and ocean, great people. This video brings back memories of my visit. What is crazy, it doesn't matter a time when people share their experience of Havana, nothing has not changed. Everything still looks the exact the same. Before I visited and after. I have nothing negative to say about Cuba and its people. It was an enjoying welcome to be there. Not only see and feeling the culture but to be educated in the history is what really draws me to this county. No doubt, I would visit again if I have the opportunity to.

My father in law is Cubano. We have been there in 2020 and I was shocked how destroyed this country is. Because we have family over there we have seen so much non-touristic places and have seen so much poverty. I remember this vacation incredibly well and it regularly helps me to look past the little problems in my life. Because since then I know how hard life can be. Even as “wealthy” Germans, on many days it was not possible for us to organize food or drink. Sometimes we searched supermarkets for water for days. We usually got a phone call when something was in stock somewhere and then we had to be quick. Now I hear the stories from my father in law that things are getting worse… hard to imagine to be honest! I hope that there will be some improvement for the Cubans soon, politically and economically!

They got bullied, so they looked to our enemy for support. Castro was right better to live poor and free. Than to be slaves to American interest. The slums you see here exist in every American city. Places with food deserts, poor water, over policing. America hates its own people of color, why would a cuban want that for his family. Stay free cuba, see you again soon.

Never been to Havana but we went to Holguin... We stayed at a resort but we traveled to the city a few times to get out of the tourist zone. The people are amazing, we wish the best for them ❤️ We are heading back into Cuba next month, and we are looking forward to touring around off the beaten path.

I was visiting with my parents in 1959 as an infant & recall seeing a military truck full of soldiers from a second story balcony which was impressive in a scary way. I now want to visit & maybe I will someday but not as a tourist but instead to be with the people.

Cuba and its people are unique; Yes I mean to say one-of -a-kind! I have been to Cuba and have met and befriended many Cuban people in my life, mostly in the United States. In all my years travelling, and meeting so many nationalities, I must admit, Cubans to me are a people of enormous resilience, pride. strength and integrity. Certainly not a people that feel sorry for themselves. Thats for sure. Cuban people have experienced hardship for so long that even knowing life on this island nation is not easy, Cuban people have made the best with their given circumstances and have confronted many decades with simple understanding that this my home mentality. What we see (being non Cubans) as maybe hardship is simply normalcy for everday Cubans living their life in Cuba. Cuba, the island, of course, will undoubtably change over time like everywhere else, but the people will always remain unique in their strong sense of pride a and unlimited number of god given wonderfull traits. This world of ours can learn alot from this amazing island nation.

I have been to Cuba twice. 1994 and 1998. Two wonderful and unforgettable vacations. Back then, there were virtually no Americans there and maybe that's what made the vacation so relaxing. There were lots of old American and Russian cars, old American cars with old Russian engines, cars with 4 different rims, lots of lovely people going about their hard everyday lives with a smile and Cuban pride. I flew to Cuba back then because it was actually clear that this Caribbean beauty would eventually also be full of Americans, envy and McDonald's restaurants. I was afraid that my wonderful memories from back then would be destroyed if I were to travel to Cuba again in 2024 or 2025. But the video is hardly any different from what I saw 30 years ago. It hasn't gotten any worse. It stayed the same bad. Thanks for the video

I’m so glad to hear you’re still enjoying Cuba! It’s such a unique place, and I’m pretty confident you won’t be spotting a McDonald’s there anytime soon-it’s part of what makes it so interesting: it's not globalized yet. I really loved your comment; it made me smile! - More Cuba videos to watch later here: kzbin.info/aero/PL4ZSmi3lHwZKDqO20CPSF5XfX6ASuGjDo 🙂🇨🇺

Que rico. Nice to see my country. I was happy there. I love it. That area is very centrical, Centro Habana y Old Havana. Cuba still keeps his spirit for what i see and i would say right now that i living in Europe, Thanks to God. Cuba is very strong spiritually ( i wasn't very aware before) and i hope we keep like this with all the changes coming. There is a lot of freedom in my opinion. Spiritual freedom. I hope nobody gets jealous. Bless...If i have to be born again in this world, I would love crazily to be in Cuba.

Before 1959 Cuba was a semi feudal society with workers living lives similar to slaves. Landowners often killed peasants for whatever reason they felt like. Workers did not have access to free education or health care. Nowadays Cubans have a greater literacy rate, life expectancy and are better fed than US equivalent averages
@notyourdaddy2148 Жыл бұрын
do you have sources for this? i’m asking cause i used to believe the same but i didn’t find a way to prove that many (especially black) cubans lived as serfs or sharecroppers, etc. i have found proof that a lot of them used to live in shanty towns which doesn’t necessarily contradict or negate the possibility of them still having to pay (out of what they earned) for the tools they used to work with at the plantation for example. just haven’t found anything concrete and i haven’t really heard anything like that from locals in the city or country side (i’m cuban born and raised). don’t doubt the possibility tho 🤷🏾♂️
@notyourdaddy2148 Жыл бұрын
about being better fed than the us, i’d definitely disagree. there are very few homeless people starving in the streets in cuba but scarcity of food is very much real, something that the average anerican doesn’t quite deal with.

En Ingles: Since Fidel Castro, Raoul Castro, Diaz-Canal and the army's swindler (Gaesa), Cuba has turned into a terrible prison island that is completely bankrupt: if young people are not imprisoned, they have left and only old people are left behind in abject poverty. Everyone raises their hand for money and goods from family and friends abroad; the hotels are empty and airlines are shutting down because there are no more passengers.

Parou no tempo!!!

It is sad to see a wonderful country, with all its strength from the 1950s, being turned into ruins by the mere whim of rulers. All strength to the Cuban people.
@geekuyl6942 Жыл бұрын
No it's turned into ruins because there is an trade embargo on Cuba. The embargo against Cuba was legislated in the Cuban Democracy Act of 1992 and the Helms-Burton Act of 1996. The Helms-Burton Act was passed shortly after Cuba shot down an unarmed American plane, killing four. The law makes it possible to prosecute companies that trade with Cuba, or impose sanctions if they are not American companies. The law also means that the president of the United States can no longer personally - without the consent of Congress - determine whether the embargo will be lifted. The European Union objected to the laws. She thought that it made the United States implausible, because the US dictated to other countries about the importance of a free world market. And that's why Cuba is poor.
@OneInTheMosh Жыл бұрын
@@geekuyl6942Also worth mentioning that with a couple occasional exceptions, U.S. and Israel are the only nations to vote in favour of the embargo consistently. All others oppose it
