I love calculus shenanigans 😂 as a runner I can only control my pace, where time is the constant factor I want to beat, but physiological factors that impact my ability to accelerate are too beyond my control. Jen is the bomb!🎉

@@mmason4242 hah! So true re: accelerating while running! Tbh I prefer a constant pace but am doing a climbing training program that has me sprinting for a certain % of time 😭

Ah yes, good ole derivatives. Can't wait for integration and the FTC. 🙂Your video just made my day! Thanks Jen!

Great presentation. My biggest stumbling block with calculus has been the notation. Where did this notation come from? As a technologist, I am sure I have done this in my own field: Assuming that others know the basics. I would love a lecture on notation. How/why did Newton and Leibnez decide what their notation would look like and mean? Little squiggles and lines can seem so ominous to the beginning math student, because they do not relate to everyday life.... at all. Just so you know; you have been the 'clearest' so far. Maybe it's a brain defect on my part.

@@hippie-io7225 that is SUCH a good question! Kudos for recognizing that the symbols are 100% made up, I didn't realize that until I was in college. I knew the "why" of newton and liebnitz notation at some point but will need to refresh.. great topic for another video!

Not exactly related to this video, but are you able to help me with understanding something? Basically, as far as I understand, Georg cantor came up with “absolute infinity” and I was wondering, can we also conceptually have an “absolute infinitesimal?” And if so, how would we define that? As far as I understand, absolute infinity is bigger than all conceivable and inconceivable quantities, so would absolute infinitesimal be smaller than all conceivable and inconceivable quantities?
