nowadays I think all manufactures make touch and LCD fused as it makes digitizer more accurate. If OPPOA54 is OLED, it's fused 100%. Display (LCD/OLED) can be damaged by high heat. It discolors it mostly.

Thank you so much for this video. I can now tell the difference. However, to gain clarity on a particular issue, I want to present my situation. 1) I have a Samsung Galaxy J8 phone. It is responsive to touch (so, I am guessing the digitizer still works). However, there are several lines that appear on the phone. I am unable to tell if this is an LCD problem, or just the screen glass. 2) I have an Iphone Xsmax. I can visibly see everything (cause the display is still perfect), there are no lines on it. However, only the bottom part of the screen is responsive. The upper part isn't responsive anymore, so I am guessing this one is a digitizer problem, and oh! the screen glass has some cracks on it too. Please, correct me if my diagnosis is wrong.

J8 with line mean that LCD is damaged. Xs Max with bottom touch working is most likely digitizer issue. if no damage, but no touch means, touch sensor on motherboard needs repair.

Yes and no. but I doubt if it will fix issue even you replace digitizer. when it gets hot, cpu is probably throttling and that is why you may have touch issue.

if you see green display, it means display / AMOLED is damaged. that has nothing to do with digitizer. you will need whole new display module.

It depends on the model. most phones now digitizer/LCD fused. In that case, even you found LCD, you won't be able to do it as digitizer will not be saved if you have to separate LCD/digitizer.

I believe you can replaced glass/digitizer only on that model. I don't think LCD is fused to glass. for this model digitizer is fused to glass.

My digitizer gets overwhelmed or something because sometimes my screen becomes unresponsive but it does respond sometimes. I've had it in for repair 2 times and the first time they swapped out the motherboard or whatever and it didn't fix it. The second time they didn't find any errors so they just reinstalled the software but nothing has really changed. It still stops responding to my touch after some time. Actually, when I picked it up out of the box when I got it yesterday, it wasn't responding to my touch. This is really annoying.

Theoretically it's possible but it all depends on how it's made. If LCD/Digitizer/glass is fused, you are not going to be able to save glass.

When it's water damaged, it's completely different issue. It could corroded connect that could affect touch. Replacing screen is not gonna fix in that case.

sounds like you have cracked AMOLED of your device. currently there isn't much difference is prices of Note 4 and Note5. You will have to get complete unit glass/digitizer/LED.

I brought a tablet Asus Zenpad 3s10 Z500m. It got a small crack about half inch on the bottom right and the touch was non responsive from top to bottom about half inch. Then on the 2nd day, the half screen of tablet was non responsive and finally on 3rd day about 98% of tablets touch function was non responsive. There is 1 or 2 spot where touch is responsive however making the entire tablet non touch. I am using otg cable to attach bluetooth mouse to use it. Hi there. I'm a bit confused on what exactly I'm supposed to be buying for my lg g3. I dropped it the other day and it ended up getting a deep cracked spot right on top of where it shows the time(the time while on lock screen) The cracks are spread out around the crack/hole thing like a spider web and there's also cracks that seem to be under the glass that go all the way down almost to the bottom of the screen and they go all the way to the top as well. The whole top of the screen doesn't work and the only numbers that it will let me press on the lock screen are 2,7,9,0 and 5. It can't be unlocked at all. my daughters samsung tab 4 has no crack but did get wet. Was working fine then all of a sudden had black spotting. Then whole screen went black a few weeks later. Can I change just the lcd screen to fix it? It still turns on but black screen kinda flashes a bit but still stays black. Is that the digitizer or just the lcd

When it's liquid damaged, that is different. it could be liquid damaged display IC or connector or could be LCD. You won't know until you test it.

@@ifixsmartphone9079 I tried disconnecting the lcd cable and plugging it back in and the battery icon did show up once but then the lines came back so I was told it's the lcd cable

@@joleneguerrero4794 hopefully flex but I don't think so. flex doesn't get damaged like that due water and shows line. Line means usually damaged LCD.

In my samsung galaxy s4 the display only shows white screen when turned on but it is working perfectly.....It just shows the white screen though so there's a problem with digitizer or LCD or both of them needs to be replaced??

Whenever you have an issue with picture, that has to do with LCD or LED. In your case, it's LED since Samsung uses AMOLED. thus you must replace whole complete front module. LED cannot be replaced separately.
