How can we know that glass rod get postive charge and ebonite rod get negative charge? Hope u will surely answer my question

@kritikasharma7559 3 жыл бұрын
i too never understand that which substance will get what charge
@prasoon7916
@prasoon7916 3 жыл бұрын
When the glass rod is rubbed with silk cloth, then the electrons of the glass rod transfer to the silk cloth, that's why glass rod will get positively charged. and when ebonite rod is rubbed on wool, then the electrons of the wool get transferred on the ebonite rod, hence ebonite rod gets negatively charged. (since electrons carry negative charge)

The conventional symbol for current is I, which originates from the French phrase intensité du courant, (current intensity). Current intensity is often referred to simply as current.The I symbol was used by André-Marie Ampère, after whom the unit of electric current is named, in formulating Ampère's force law (1820) The notation travelled from France to Great Britain, where it became standard, although at least one journal did not change from using C to I until 1896.

@@divakarreddy6300 Ok, so, the work required to move an electric charge of x coulombs through an electrical potential difference of y volts, will be a Coulomb-Volt (C*V, which will be x*y). So I multiplied 3C and 6V, and 3C*6V = 18C*V = 18J I hope this helps
