But what is email marketing in the first place?
When I talk to people, most do not fully understand what email marketing means in this day and age.
And sadly, others think of email marketing as an old-school marketing tactic that simply does not work anymore.
But I have to tell you - they’re wrong.
In fact, we just helped one small business send an email newsletter campaign that resulted in over $30,000.00 in revenue for their eCommerce store.
For another business, we set-up an email drip campaign that resulted in over $12,000.00 in revenue.
Today, I’m going to clearly define what is email marketing, go over why it is important, where it fits in your overall digital strategy, and discuss the BIGGEST mistakes I see people make. I’ll also throw-in my favorite email marketing platform right now to use for small business marketing.
Okay. So What is Email Marketing?
Email marketing is the process of sending emails to promote your business. These emails are typically sent to prospects to help convince them to buy your products and services. Or, they are sent to existing customers to encourage repeat purchases.
Either way, there is an art to using email marketing, and when used correctly, it can help you grow your business.
Is Email Marketing Dead?
Not at all. 91% of people check their email daily and 72% of consumers actually enjoy receiving emails from brands they subscribe to.

Hello Sherman, great video! I must admit I am one fo those who thought email marketing isn’t as good and using other social media platforms. I think the best message was the trust in 8:47 just like in any relationship regardless of what kind of relationship there needs to be some kind of trust. Your video opened my eyes to email marketing, the only thing I see hard in this strategy is how to get people to subscribers to your emails. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Can I do e-mail marketing to new emails that don't know me?

Technically you could, but we do not suggest doing that. Buying email lists or targeting cold leads is not very practical, and you'll end up wasting a lot of time and resources trying to get them to convert. We suggest developing your email list organically, because these leads will be more qualified and more likely to make a purchase from you.

I agree with Sherman, I recently subscribed to the services of another company and some how the day after I started to be bombarded by many email that I did not wish to receive. All of this companies who were sending me emails to me were blocked and now I have negative experience from them because I started to get email from them without my authority.
