i first understand then i think: yet there is no 'person', no 'self', idealism bring suffering for the individual seeking ideal? the first reaction is YES: my problem has been the ideal yet I am seeking the ideal both for humanity and for self, yet there is no 'self' according to the teachings?

not really. I've been working on it for decades. Idealism in Plato's intellectual asceticism is only an exoteric training for moving from a solid duality to a more nondual experience of the essence of what exists.
