It look good only in animation when comes to recovery its result are worst or non attended, only very less percentage of people are completely cured. I have seen many case like this which made it worst then before they were in the condition.😢

I have hardware in my neck from a previous cervical fusion. I now have bulging discs above and below the fused area, causing me pain. 2 orthopedic surgeons who do these procedures have told me they won't perform this technique on me, that only a fusion can be performed. Is there a reason they wouldn't want to do this procedure? I don't want to fuse any more levels and lose more mobility in my neck.

They get paid way more than this arthroscopic discectomy. Even the far superior tADR (to fusion, not arthroscopic- according to mamy studies presented in over 100hrs of Seattle science foundation surgeon lectures i watched), total artificial disc replacement, which takes the same time effort facilititiies tools and support, pays 1/2 ehat fusion does and fusion has an 80+% "adjacent disc disease" rate withing 8 to 10 years. Aka it ruins the discs above and below. So, is a "happy accident" the surgeon gets repeat business on top of quadruple the pay of the "gold standard" for 80+% of fusion and tADR patients. I've only found about 1 dozen who do them in states near me and im sure half of those are bait and switchers that will claim fusion is best. Experience amd or training is key for this but it's not that hard. They should use methyln blue and a top arthroscopic spinal manufacturer. The TOP surgeons i found that ONLY do these have ssf lectures, have done the procedure on Celebrities you can find (like Dr Travis of "the doctors" tv show), and or give training on the procedure as it's not otherwise taught anywhere. It's been widely accepted for over 20 years in the U.S. longer in europe where you can get even more experience surgeons to do it at same or less cost often... Don't be fooled by their confidence, ommission or downplaying this option. This took me 3 years and hundreds of hours of research to find. Take heed, dont trust them, record everything, and share it far and wide. If arthroscopic bone spur removal (which only show adequately via THIN SLICED CT scan), doesn't reduce pain enough, THEN consider a radio transparent artificial disc like Prestige LP, prodisc C Vivo (both of which ate ideal if not for the image scattering which is a huge deal) Simplify Disc (least image scattering in my list, not only consider if they change the cheap alumina bearing inside to a less toxic ceramic like zirconia rather than the current alumina). Do NOT use mobi c regular prodisc c, or M6. And, be SURE to authenticate whatever device you have installed as their are at least 80k people in the U.S. with COUNTERFEIT SPINE DEVICES INSTALLED in their bodies. At minimum get the box it comes sealed in and verify the serial numbers. Make them write down to recycle your own blood in the event they need more blood. WALK OUT if they give ANY problems or hesitations.. Even after they jump to compliance, you'll have a grip of people unhappy with you performing surgery they can easily make "mistakes" with. Don't be fooled. Get another surgeon at a different office.... European specialists give free remote consults as well as have much more experience doing things like a "hybrid" your talking about if arthroscopic discectomy is out of the question according to at least 3 arthroscopic specialists (most of whom do conscious anesthesia in order yo test the surgeries success while still in the O.R. among other reasons btw)... Dr Lanman of Beverly Hills has a hybrid in himself. You could check with him also, but I don't think he does ARTHROSCOPIC discectomy. Any surgeon that poopoos arthroscopic discectomy in general should be looked at with serious skepticism as it's superior but not in THEIR best interest (80+% of the time)

@atlanticspinecenter when would they decide to do it anteriorly as opposed to posteriorly ? I would think anterior surgery would be safer as it wouldn’t get as close to the nerve root?

I’ve had 3 surgeries so far and needing two more sadly. It depends on what is going on and how severe it is. I have had anterior and posterior done! Having posterior done hurts the worst and a lot longer recovery! Not to mention nasty scar!

had acdf surgery fused in 4 places my right side was messed up (right arm right chest) that feels better now it slightly has switched over to my left side, is this normal post healing 4 weeks after? not numb but like almost like im feeling recompression surgeon said it cant be since he looked at the xray but since they were working back there its possible they touched it nicked it or something? i guess my question is can you feel the difference between compression? vs just surgery post pain/numbness that heals?

I have had acdf done as well as a disc replacement.x3 I now have to have another surgery at two different levels. Already had done at c3-c4 c5c6 and c6c7. Two more are herniated and one causing pinched nerves which leads to tingling and numbness. Can’t afford taking time off work as I am a single parent, but it’s normal for the feeling to go to the other side as sometimes when they preform these surgeries, there’s always a chance the pressure can cause issues above and or below what was already fused.

@@depdark1 hello honestly in my personal opinion and experience I would say each person is different... I will tell you I did have the epidural steroid injection and that did help last November for a couple of months but because my disks are so herniated it didn't last too long but it did take the pain completely away for a couple of months... However if you get the surgery I will tell you right now you're not going to be able to go back to construction for a while I am just about at 8 weeks now and I'm just now fully healing up... The reason for that is they do put three layers of stitches 🪡 in there through everything they cut through,now knock on 🪵 wood I'm doing great! I highly suggest the shot first and go from there BUT!!! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT LET A SURGEON FORCE YOU TO HAVE THR DISK REMOVED AND REPLACED, recovery and other things take a lot longer
