Nice explained but what will happen if 1) promoter reduce there holding than outstanding share will increase and eps will decrease. 2) what if company raise share capital by issuing extra share than also eps will decrease. How we should consider this scenario please explain

Just an amendment, Please take Earning and No. of Equity shares of same day i.e. of 16-17. You can see no. of shares in Balance sheet also. It is not viable to take earning and no. of es of different day as the company might have issued equity shares in between.

Very Nicely explained. But, with the example choosen, CDSL, the net profit for 2016-17 is 86.59 rather than 67.85, which leads to EPS of 8.21. Correct me if I'm wrong. BTW, I couldn't find 67.85Cr in the balance sheet. Thanks!
