I "reverted" to Islam a year ago and some bit more, that is, discovered the Quran and general values of the religion i liked. And then Sunnism got hold of me, they are nice people, but it is a sect no doubt about it, it has ideas coming from outside of the Quran which they do give more weight than they should have. I suppose some people just gain fame in the sect, and the time they realize the issues with it, some just fear losing their position, or simply they pack Islam altogether with the sect and they fear losing something of value... i think this kinda happened to me tbh, because i believe in the Quran and if i don't know something then abandoning it based on external claims i can't corroborate would be foolish in my opinion, and i would be in loss, prey for the shayateen like many have been... So yeah, this is a big test, not everyone passes... Subhanallah i don't even know if i'm guided, when refered to ideas outside of the Quran i may hold. And from the Quran alone, some people are like Christian protestants, some are even more astray than the main sect, while others are better guided. May God glorified be he guide us all. Peace
