Thanks for the great videos man. Noobies like myself need all the help we can get. So what fps did you use for the youtube vid? My cam phone appears to only have 30 and 60 for 4K. Thanks! P.S. Never mind that question. I just saw your other video explaining it all HA.

@@CamberFilmSchool I have the Samsung S21 Ultra. Takes nice pictures. I also have a decent Sony cam but don't really use it.

Cool. Never used it before cause I’ve always had iPhones. The default on iPhones is 30 and 60 FPS as well, but when you go into the phone settings there are some options for 24 FPS. Not sure it’s possible with the S21 with digging deeper into the menus.

Thanks for your frame rate explanation. When i shoot vehicles moving by at 24FPS (1/50 shutter) I find the playback very jerky. However if done at 60, everything looks fine. I wonder how that (vehicle moving) looks fine in movies shot at 24 (I assume)? Can you shed some light? Many thanks.

Angles at which you’re shouting can make a big difference too.

My old iPhone 7 at 30FPS while side panning is so jerky/choppy but when I set it to 60FPS (1/120) shutter speed using Filmic Pro it is much better on that device. I find I try and avoid side panning now unless really quick or very very slow 😆

I usually use 60FPS for most of the shooting. I have a question. I have to shoot some event and want to give it a old jerky look as if shot during the Chaplin days. Pls give your suggestion how do i achieve that....Love from India

Shoot on the lowest frame rate you can (probably 24 fps) and then when editing you’ll need to cut out every 2nd or 3rd frame to essentially turn it into a 12-15fps video. You may be able to manually set a 15 fps timeline and confirm your footage to that.

I actually didn't know the 24 fps was an economical/technical decision, at least to that degree. Btw, turned my wife on to your show cause I've been trying get her to take an interest in photography/filmmaking for about 10 years. Hopefully you can turn her around.

That's cool to hear! I hope she'll get into it as well. I just got Jill the new Sony a7iii, and she's loving it. I've been trying to talk her into switching from Canon for a while now (plus it'll make editing colors when using multiple cameras a lot easier for me with the same picture profiles!).

I use 60 fps because I can create slow motion with twixtor and have a much better and smoother result then i export it in 30 fps
