How does fuel trim work in EFI and How to read Short Term fuel Trim and Long Term fuel Trim values on OBD scan tool? Fuel trim is explained in easy way with the help of daily life examples. Why do short-term and Long-term fuel trim values keep fluctuating all the time? Understanding of short term fuel trim and long term fuel trim function is demonstrated in detail that how the fuel trims control or maintain the air/fuel Ratio of mixture on a pre-programmed value. Air to Fuel ratio of the mixture is commonly maintained at 14.7:1 in cruise mode and Engine runs on Rich mixture in big torque loads.
If the mixture gets lean the positive short term fuel trim is generated and long term fuel trim is saved in ECM memory.in case of Rich mixture negative short term fuel trim is generated.
