How does the load shed module communicate with the transfer switch if it's wireless is there something in the transfer switch you need to turn on or do you have to pair this device please let me know thank you

Does the ats load shed prior to returning to utility power. 2 ac units running on gen power, when transfer back to utility the ac untis start short cycling

I’m helping to run a small general store and it has an 8kw generator connected to one panel that has the walk-in dairy fridge on it but there’s a large freezer and 4 small freezers that probably should be connected that aren’t currently and we have the load shed module but nothing is connected to the load terminals... it seems like maybe there were plans to do more but the initial installation only went so far, now I sort of understand what it does, so it could be integrated. What I’d like to know is if there are 2 big loads and the 1st priority one shuts off (satisfies) does it switch on the 2nd priority load automatically while the 1st is off, then switch back when the 1st switches on? It would almost make sense to have it switch back and forth every hour so that it takes care of both of them, but it doesn’t seem to have that type of programming capacity.

Best explanation for ELMS out there! I was looking for any aviation examples (Boeing 777) of ELMS, this worked perfect. You said air conditioning I herd galleys and outlets. ✈️👍🏽 thanks for making it simple

I have a 22kw and want to use a load module for my pool pump etc. When wiring these do I only use low voltage wire to wire these up or do you have to wire into panel. Thanks good job on videos very helpful

Can A/C shedding be used with clothes dryer and stove/oven?
@PowerEquipmentDirect4 жыл бұрын
The built in A/C shedding will only work with items that use low voltage (24 volt) control wires. Any other item will need a module at the circuit breaker.

If the power factor of the load changes, will that affect the amount of real power (kW) it draws from the generator?
@PowerEquipmentDirect3 жыл бұрын
Technically yes, if the power factor of the load changes then it will either draw more or less power from the generator. This will not change the generator's power factor, as it is a constant.

How does a trade professional refer to an appliance that creates hot water from a household water source as a "hot water heater"? It's a water heater! It wouldn't be needed if the water is already hot. Who heats already hot water?

This description of devices sounds a lot like an iot smart switch. I have everything in my house connected to smart switches. They are all monitored and controlled via a home automation controller. To implement load shedding I just have my home controller turn off devices based on rules I define such as, “activate generator scene” which turns off all non essential devices all at once.

We can see the similarities between the examples, thanks for the illustration.
