The goldfish thing is implied that because he was gone for two days, the fish probably died. Then Mark bought a new one, so Steven wouldn't notice. But of course, Mark couldn't find a fish with a messed up fin.

I like how confused you guys were throughout. 😄 That's the intended effect. It hits different when you know the character from the comics and you understand what's going on with him. It's best not to look up information at this point and just experience the show as it's intended for new viewers. The goldfish problem is that the fish was swapped out. The original fish with one fin might have died for one reason or another. It was replaced with a new fish with two fins (as noted in the episode, the main character visited the fish shop in the previous day, but Steven doesn't remember doing so). There's also the myth about how goldfish have short memories, and thus forget things quite easily. That's meant to parallel Steve's experience in this episode, where he's always baffled by his current situation because he seems to have "forgotten" what he was doing just a few seconds before. As you guys guessed, Steven is actually swapping back and forth with Marc. Steven loses time whenever Marc is in control. So Steven went to sleep on Thursday night, woke up as Marc (maybe on Friday) and went to the Alps, stole a scarab from guys with guns, inadvertently woke up as Steven after falling to the ground and breaking his jaw, and things just deteriorated from there. At some point, Marc arrived back in London (I'm guessing on Saturday), went back to sleep and woke up on Sunday as Steven. Steven has now lost track of both Friday and Saturday as a result. I'm gonna guess that Marc makes a point of distracting Steven from looking at anything that gives away the date (so Steven wouldn't look at his phone's calendar, for example).

If you were really suffering from DID…you probably would have developed habits to prevent yourself from hurting/discovering the problem, and thus, likely, formed a habit of not looking at your smartphone date. Also, OMG…you can def watch this series without watching the MCU, but….don’t watch any of the other Marvel shows without catching up on the movies. As to demand for watching the movies- WATCH THEM! I will watch your reactions and would bet that many others will as well. You will not be disappointed. (Edit and ps- guy on the left, you look almost exactly like my cousin in Oklahoma…sometimes it’s weird, but mostly I’m rooting for you.)

I’m happy you reacted to this 🙂 wasn’t sure if you were marvel fans. Moonknight is a complex character, he has DID (dissociative identity disorder). That might help you understand a little bit more of whats going on 😉

If u guys want some more explanation I would recommend watching new rockstars videos on moonight! I do feel like this show needs a little bit of backstory to understand what’s happening. Marc has DID and has multiple personalities and he is the avatar for konshu* the god. The glass shoe guy is the avatar for another god. He kind of has a cult.

Soo basically .. Marc has DID and Moonknight is the form he takes to fight in. As for the fish, IIII think after being gone for so long, Marc replaced the it thinking Steven wouldn't notice the difference.. And the title "Goldfish Problem" comes from the myth that goldfish have short term or bad memory; like Steven.

I don’t think this is a spoiler but Marc has DID, which is Dissociative Identity Disorder. He basically has multiple personalities. Steven is one of them. The “alien thing that follows him around” is the Egyptian god of the moon and Marc is his avatar which is a human who does his bidding. Hope this helps, love the channel 💚

I get that Bryce! I grew up in a house that didn't watch a lot of superhero movies, my mom was a fan of Iron Man (only bc of RDJ of course) and I only ever saw the Tobey Maguire Spiderman once, it wasn't until a few years ago that I watched the Civil War movie for the first time. It was my first intro to the franchise, and I loved it. Obviously confused on some things but I got there lol Moon Knight is definitely one of if not, my top favs.

The good news about this series is that you really don't have to have any MCU knowledge to enjoy it! It's one of the few, if not only, Disney+ Marvel series that can say that, so anyone who hasn't watched the movies can watch this and be entertained!

19:35 talk about predicting a future episode. 30:45 one of the greatest superhero intros, right up there with Blade, Hulk (2008), and Batman (2005). I agree with you on the Batman/Deadpool vibes. Marc is very Batty like and his costume too. Steven-while not as cuckoo as Wade does have a vibe where i think him and Wade could get along. Now i know these reacts are a year ago, so if you have already started the Marvel movies hopefully you guys are doing the late 90s/early 2000s superheroes as well. Blade is currently coming to MCU and watching the OG will allow you to know why some of us are concerned with DISNEY taking him on as he is right up there with Wolverine and Deadpool when it comes to R-rated content, it is possible to make him PG-13 but he is best with a bloody and gore fest film. And as WandaVision has a character from the X-Men franchise its best to catch up on them; Dr Strange 2 even has some X-Men love to it. Cant wait to see you guys figure out Moon Knight in the next reactions!

okay something that you should probably know is that Marc has DID, which means he most likely had a lot of childhood trauma, which in turn, fractures your mind into different, unique people such as Steven. Alternate "personalities" are called alters. (This next part might be a spoiler warning, but this is information from the comics and may answer some questions) So Marc is a mercenary who was left for dead, and I believe he had DID at that time, but the moon god, Konshu, resurrected him. Also Konshu is the source of the moonknight suit, but Marc and Steven have the power to use it.
