Apparently, that Honkai looking character at the end is Skirk. Childe's mentor that taught him how to control his powers. And from the looks of it, Neuvellette was able to ascend into full dragon hood too, so meaning Furina either died or she gave her power/authority up so that Neuvellette can ascend. This trailer had me at the edge of my seat from the very beginning.

I dont think Furina will die. Focalor was the one sentence to death not Furina. Though with how Hoyo like to take voice lines out of context in trailers. It might be a past cut scene of the judgement of Egeria. I dont know if its been reveal how she died that lead to Furina being a archon in the first place. If Furina did die she would have to pull a Jesus and come back as she is going to have a character quest post main story like the other archons.

According to a friend, Egeria's death was revealed in the several world quests in Sumeru. Egeria died in Sumeru when she tried to help the Greater Lord with forbidden knowledge. As Egeria died, the Greater Lord turned her into a pond in Sumeru known as Amrita. How Furina became the archon I still don't know, but Egeria's death wasn't linked to Fontaine at all.

If a playable genshin character dies it'll be really surprising, even if it's not an important one.... Genshin trailers always love to make us think things that don't actually happen in the quest, like for example the guillotine falling and then her hat falling a sec after it, it's like implying that she got her head chopped off, but then with the way they do things they could be 2 totally unrelated scenes, that have nothing to do with each other and they made it here to cinematically trick us and build the drama
