Injuries for the Braves this year (Ignoring day-to-day): Combine this with several hitters slumping at the same time and the impact of the deadened ball for a home run reliant offense, you can see why/how they are struggling. Without Ozuna they are probably a 0.500 team. Ronald Acuna Jr - ACL2 Out for Season Spencer Strider - TJ Out for Season Sean Murphy - Oblique Missed 2 Months Injured Opening Day Ozzie Albies - Fractured Toe Missed 2 Weeks Pierce Johnson - Elbow Missed 2 Weeks Tyler Matzek - Elbow 60 Day still out currently Austin Riley - Injured but was never IL did not play for 2-3 weeks (odd) AJ Smith Shawver - Oblique Still out unknown AJ Minter - Hip 15 Day IL out currently As an aside, Morton has not been good heading into his retirement.

the drag of baseballs is affecting barrels at greater than 30 degree launch angles to where they fall for outs a lot more frequently. But that hasn't necessarily been the braves problem (except for Michael Harris patented floaty left-center fly balls he relied on previously) , the braves have been bottom 3 mlb unlucky on lower angle barrels too. but this definitely isnt all their problem, a lot of it is bad approaches at the plate etc idk really

Freeman, not a Brave bro, he has been a Dodger now for a hot minute. The Braves, with most of the same players, had a historic offense last year. Acuna went down in 2021 with ACL and still win the world series without him. Bunch of those same guys, are still in this lineup. They are just slumping as a team. Rather it be now, but I'm hoping we wake up soon and guys who are far more capable, start just playing ball! There is no lack of talent here even with some injuries, it's still a very good team. I expect AA to be active and add another arm to the rotation and probably add another solid outfielder to help infuse this team. If the Bats wake up, they can play with anyone. We will see as the season unfolds.

With the Braves, this has been a very pathetic first half. Ron Washington did what Snitker doesn’t do and actually challenged guys and killed complacency. This year, they seemed like they had arrived and have nothing to prove due to their past accomplishments….(or lack these past two years🤔). They have a lot to prove and maybe they’re playing tight and trying to replicate last year….they should relax and go out there and play. These guys aren’t the juggernaut this year, they better learn to play with some grit, heart, and scrappiness this year. These guys would be okay, if they had some heart and dignity.

Almost every single time the Padres do well these guys ignore them. And when they finally have to talk about the padres because of an awesome moment like a rookie walk off homer they immediately have to derail the conversation to talk about the dodgers. And plouffe has the nerve to say they don't talk about Yamamoto enough? They talk about him more than entire teams, hell they talk about him more than the Padres as a whole. Y'all couldn't give Merrill his props? Why did it immediately have to go to "Yamamoto is doing super well and he's underrated"?

If a team's around .500 but kicks one of the best teams asses, or gets back to back walk off home runs, one off of one of the most hyped closers in baseball, you'd expect them to cover it more substantially, they would if it was the Mets, the Cubs, the dbacks, any other mediocre team.

@@chrisrose742 fair nuff, I was just really excited to hear the pod's opinion on Jackson Merrill. He had such a great game but the conversation immediately derailed to talking about whether one of the most popular and hyped up pitchers gets enough media attention, yall spent more time talking about a dodgers star pitcher than the rookie who just walked it off against mason miller. I get that the big market teams get talked about more but it feels deliberate that the majority of the full segments the Padres get are about how much of a stain Tatis' PED suspension is on his legacy while the good things are just mentioned in passing if at all.
