I have had an original Cameo for about 14 years and love it. I bought the Portrait 4 because my Cameo was having issues connecting. I am so frustrated with the new machine. I cannot get the print and cut feature to cut properly. I've calibrated, made sure there's plenty of light, and still cutting way off or not even registering to begin with.

Try closing the lid while it's trading the registration marks. Less light is better because that will reduce shadows and glare. My 3 and 4 both do better with print and cut. It's crazy.

When I cut on 6x6 cardstock the mat shifts and the cuts are all over the place. Any advice for how to prevent that?

It is a bit noisy. I don't have a 3 to compare it to. It's louder than the Cameo 5, though. 😬 No state of the art equipment here - besides the Silhouettes.

I got a Camo 5 for a short period of time (it broke almost right away in the rollers so I returned it and to be honest it wasn’t a huge a difference in sound compared to my cameo 4 or Portrait 3. Almost as loud IMO

@Piggeandfriends So sorry this happened to you. I'm dealing with a chronic illness that entails extreme sensitivity to sounds (as well as a number of other things), so I am grateful that my new C5 and P4 machines are noticeably quieter to me while cutting. The auto-blade adjustment smacking and overcut clacking are about the same, though! 😊

That is correct. You can layer different colors of vinyl instead of printing.
