Koi are my favorite. When I settle down and buy a house that's going to be my end plan in fish keeping. A huge koi pond in the backyard.

I hope to build an "easy to build" pond this summer with the help of Zak so that most people can have an affordable pond.

Sanke & showa are my two hardest fish to tell. I get so confused over the two and when smaller i find myself flopping back and fourth on which one it is! SO i either have a Sanke with too much black or i have a showa lol

Is there a way to get the white on a Koi to be whiter? Does Japanese clay, or any color enhancing product work? Beautiful Koi!

Could you perhaps do a video about the long fin koi? Are there any differences in their requirements? I'm in the planning stages of building my dream Koi pond, I'm a long way out as I still have to purchase my first house first but when i am able to do it i want to do it right! I'm mesmerised by Koi and have been so since the first time I saw a koi pond when my parents first took me to our local aquarium store! They have a truly stunning pond and ever since I first saw their long finned Showa I knew I had to have one! I love the videos you do with Koi (I love all your videos!) and I can't wait to see the treasures you have in your pond at home! So I suppose what i'd like to respectfully request is a video all about the requirements needed for long fin vs 'normal' fin Koi and maybe how to spot a good one!

Hey Cory, How can I go from an aquaclear 70 and a large sponge filter to just a sponge filter, can I remove the aquaclear and add some stability while leave the biomax in the tank? It's a Planted tank with diamond tetras and corys so low/med bio load, Ned/highly planted. Any info tip will be greatly appreciated? Thank you! Nick

Another fascinating Koi video. Thank you. What is advantage to leaving fish in Japan to grow instead of one's own pond? Is it just for better size?
@AquariumCoop7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, typically in the hands of professionals they can grow them faster. It can be replicated here but typically more expensive to do so.
@MrFishface57 жыл бұрын
My question would be once they put them in tha pond how are you going to find them

These puppies are so tame and loveable! Is the color of the eyes a trait valued in the United States? I noticed the three all had blue eyes
@bk2pla7 жыл бұрын
LittleLargeMouth, The eye color doesn't factor into the price, it's more of an indicator of the fishe's breeding background; sanke has blue in the eye, and a little brownish lace like pattern, while a kohaku often has a clear white eye with just the pupil is black.
@LittleLargeMouth7 жыл бұрын
Do handlers put some slime coat conditioner or anything on their hands before touching koi? Shouldn't we be worried about causing abrasions, taking away the slime coat of the fish?
@bk2pla7 жыл бұрын
LittleLargeMouth , I'm pretty sure they don't put anything on their hand, at least I've never seen it. Don't worry though, they're going back into pristine water and their coat will be the same in a very short while. No abrasions were made.
@AquariumCoop7 жыл бұрын
Nothing on their hands, the koi have such thick scales that it tends to not be a problem.
@JCsFishShrimp7 жыл бұрын
With such a high cost for these quality koi, it has me wondering. Do koi shows have large prizes? That's quite the investment if they aren't recouping some from breeding or show prizes.
@AquariumCoop7 жыл бұрын
Some have decently high prizes, but it's more about winning the awards and then selling the winning koi if you're doing it for the money.
