Yeah this sequence of events is soooo well done, its like you can follow along while suddenly your conclusion is flipped upside down and then the new situation is completely flipped again by the characters actions and all of it makes total sense, just this blueprint of an "empty sheet of paper" that is meruem, someone who has not learned a thing in his short life and yet tough he starts of as pure evil he is still reasonable and smart so this conclusion kinda makes sense in every way, komugi embodies the purest of human mankind while also showing meruem, that all life deserves atleast a certain degree of respect, he just began to appreaciate "life" itself through this one person. to melt the frozen heart of an evil demon. You need the gentle kindness of the most purest angel.

Love the scene with the King asking the guards about his name. It shows all their attitudes perfectly: Pouf doesn't see a name as necessary because he's The King, a godlike being who doesn't need attachments like a name. Pitou wants him to be satisfied emotionally so suggests something that might make him happy. (Also accepting the order to monitor Komugi with En without question.) Youpi is pretty single minded and doesn't have an identity of his own, so doesn't have an answer.

This is why I said that the episode of Zepile being an artist with noticeable nen effect in his art was SO important. Nen can be ANYTHING, not just martial arts (which is why it's the best 'magic' system!). It was a girl whose nen was awakened into Gungi that became the most important player in this fight against such an existential threat. Just the lowliest worm of a girl who is beast mode at a strategy game.

The name discussion session is pretty much a sum of the king and the royal guards. They're like the parent and son. Pouf is the strict parent who plans all the future and paths for the child. He wants the king to become "The king" and struggled while the king develop in a diffrent direction. Pitou is like the open-minded parent. The first thing comes up to his mind is what the king really want. He encourages the king to choose his own name and doesn't have any hesitation while the king wants him to protect Komugi. Youpi is like the free-range parent. He doesn't care about what the king wants. He would be happy as long as the king is safe and alive. It's just awesome wrapping up the thought and personality with just one scene.

Hunter Hunter is on another level altogether. The flow of the king's first thoughts about his identity when he is asked his name is fantastic. There is a tremendous quality to this episode alone.

The moment where Meruem asks his Royal Guards what his name is, is actually a very important moment. We get to see each of their personalities and how they view the king. For example, Pouf’s view of the king is a very absolutist perspective. So he says that Meruem’s name is simply “King” and that there is no other name. On the other hand, Pitou just wants the best for Meruem and wants him to live comfortably, so he leaves the decision of his name up to him. It is very important to understand the personality of each Royal Guard here, because it will affect their future development in the upcoming episodes.

But the eagle attacked two of the strongest beings in the planet but was met with an insurmountable strength and then went for a very weak prey. There's a pattern there. 2:24 Yes, this is more of a narrative decision to have a particular cast of characters that really make the emotional messages of this arc shine. The author didn't just want an all out war with the strongest, it's far deeper than that. But you are right in thinking that because of this we gotta ignore the fact that they could've called over someone like Ging. To be fair though, the weaker allies here all come with utility abilities suited for the mission. So we can try to rationalize it by saying Netero didn't want any pure fighters because they couldn't match his own strength, so Netero has to be the one to fight the king anyways. And if we assume Netero thinks no other hunters can even beat the royal guard, which is a reasonable assumption, then it makes sense that he'd want utility abilities to buy time instead of combat oriented ones. Knuckle can seal someones Nen, Shoot can lock up parts of his targets, Morels smoke is beyond versatile, Knovs portals speak for themselves, Meleoron speaks for himself too, even Ikalgo controlling corpses means he can invade undetected. Gon and Killua are honestly only herre because they got mixed up in it through Kite. So while I agree that they could've taken stronger hunters with them, the selection of allies is not random, every single one of them has a very useful utility ability that can turn the tide on opponents that far surpass them in raw power.

Here we watch a case of this phenomenon And since it's not directly told in the anime, but in some extra data books (trivia), ig it's not a spoiler to say that Komugi is an Enhancer

Komugi did indeed unlock Nen in that scene. Some say she had it before, but then what would be the point of the awakening scene? Plus it was never stated or inferred that she had Nen before. Like Wing said, top athletes, physicians, etc, can unlock Nen through pure training in their own specialization. Which some are also considered Mystics, or Super-humans. And Mereum is the first person to push as far as Komugi in Gungi, which in return, forced her to unlock nen. Also, the bird that attacked Komugi was by Mereum before, but flew away once Mereum released his evil aura, which caused the bird to attack Komugi. Also, no, Pitou is animalistic, she is much more simple minded, Pouf is MUCH more evil, as he thinks along the lines of an evil selfish human.

I think she looks more like a woman on *that* scene because the anime is trying to represent Togashi's art, which when something serious happens it becomes a realistic drawing, so the difference of Anime Girl to realistic looking one might make her look older
