@@shalbec3232 That’s nice. God was truly generous when he created Africa. And he was even more kind to the people he placed in his created territory. You keep saying (our) as if African descendants of slaves, born in the Americas during the time the African continent was colonized by the Europeans, have no stake or claim to the place of our origin. Is that what you are suggesting? If so, that is a dangerous and sad proposition. Because the truth of the matter is, this whole planet and everything in it belongs to God! Not one race or people group. Don’t be like the people who colonized and set up permanent residence in “your momma Africa”. Kill that attitude! Psalm 24:1 clearly states: “The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.” When Europeans and every other secretly hostile group of people, understand that, the world just may become a better place to live.

Just to add some points about the source of Addis Ababa. So before the city was born the capital for the country was at Mount Entoto some 8-10km North of Addis. When Emperor Minilk travel to the Eastern part of the country for a mission, his wife leave the Palace and camp around "Fil weha" meaning the spring hot water in front of the grand Palace today. During her 3-4 months of her stay in camp she encountered a flower she had never encountered before. Inspired by the place the Queen named the area Addis Ababa or "The New Flower". When the Emperor returns back from the Eastern campaign he found the Empress in the new place and he decided to set up his capital and Palace in the current Genete Lule(Paradise of the Dukes" Palace where the prime minister resides today. Well the city had bloomed over a century like its name. This is just to add some points as addition.

@@anitarounce8030 I am very sorry for my late response. However if it is still valuable I would like to give you some Ideas. 1. If you wish to visit Natural seanery there are a lot to do. You can visit the 1. Dankle Depression in lower Awash Basin where you could admire the beauty nature gave to Ethiopia. It's like another planet where the underground salts left their astonishing land mark. On your way you will be able to see a crater of active volcanoe too. 2. It is also worth visiting the Semin Mountains home of the endemic Gelada Baboon, Walya Ibex and other plant and animal species. The scenery in Semin mountain is unlike any other. 3. The Bale Mountain: This is another god given land for Ethiopia in the central Highlands of Ethiopia which is the home of endemic species of faun and flora most notably the Ethiopian red fox, the Minilik bushbuck, one of the few remains of natural forest in the world from the by gone era the Harena forest, Or you can make your time at the spectacular Sof Oumar cave created from an erosion of limestone for centuries. 4. If you wish to enjoy your self bywatching peoples and their culture, Ethiopia offers you thousands of it from its many ethnic groups. Give it a rid along the way to Jinka via Gurage and passing Arba Minch. 5. If you have a limited time to go out of Addis, I suggest if you pay your first ticket to the National Meusium of Ethiopia and you can climb to Mount entoto and other places of interest. I hope I gave a little info although I am very late. If you are still in Addis and want to know more talk to me on Facebook with user name Teshager Abebaw. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

@pee26942 жыл бұрын
I was born in Addis. What you’re seeing is just the main road that leads from the airport to the city center. Trust me, we have our share of slums and all the rest. The good news is that our dear Prime Minister is hard at work to eradicate these issues. Only last month, before the rains, he was leading by example in demolishing derelict slum houses occupied by the most disadvantaged and senior citizens and building much better, rain resistant fine houses. He is our gem and we love him. Can’t wait to move back from California. Nothing’s as good as living amongst your own people.
