I keep my work iPhone in a case so I don't have to touch it. I got a HTC dream way back when and have never even considered getting an iPhone for my personal device. I'm a little disappointed that Rogers was sold out of the Huawei 20 pro but my lg G7 definitely rocks whatever I throw at it. Apple, I feel, if for people who don't care how a computer works, or even that it does. It just magic they are happy to overpay for.

Ana Tyulieva the problem is mainly because of the currency conversion rate and tariffs of the country. Apple is not willing to compromise their price tag and also they charge higher than the actual currency conversion rate and on top of that adding the tariffs makes it ridiculous priced as India has high tariffs for goods not manufactured in India due to the current govt policy of Make in India. Other companies are willing to manufacture in India or either adjust the price tag so that it won’t be too high compared with other countries after adding tariffs. I love apple for the simplicity and excellent build quality but I’m not willing to pay that high for upgrade.

I love the phone, and the camera, but it still so expensive. I would rather get an I-Mac then the small laptop with out the ports I want. I just want to get one with an 9th Generation 8 Core processor, and at least 32 gb of ram (with the ram door), and 8gb of video ram, and at least a 1 or 2 TB SSD drive.

Couldn’t agree more Daniel. It happened with Sculley but fortunately Jobs was around to pull it back. I had hoped Cook had had enough exposure to Steve to be able to carry on the philosophy but instead he’s reverted to ‘type’. Talk about biting the hand that feeds them! They alienate professionals who for example invested in Aperture and Mac Pro desktops. I mean how hard can it be to bring out a new desktop sooner than 5 years. I was fixing to jump ship in the Sculley years because Apple had become greedy and arogant showing a complete disregard for the loyal customers. It appears that regime has returned. For a company that has managed to do so many things right, how can they now continue to get so many things wrong? When I break out of the Apple eco-system it will be so costly for me that I know there’ll be no going back.

Remember Steve Jobs was fired from Apple in the first place because he was actually pretty bad at being a CEO back then. He supported a $10,000 Lisa over the $2,000 Macintosh. He insisted that no Apple computers would ever have networking (as stupid as Bill Gates saying no one would ever need more than 640K of RAM). And he was as much into high prices as Tim Cook ever was. Jobs was never known as a cheapskate. NeXT was his baby after Apple and it floundered due to a limited market for Unix machines and the high cost of those cubes and pizza boxes. It was losing money hand over fist until Apple bought NeXT over BeOS. Apple did not fully recover from Sculley and Amelio until the iPod, the product which truly saved Apple (unless you count Visicalc back in the early 80's saving the Apple II). The iPhone was originally advertised as a glorified iPod that could make calls, and for the first year, only web apps could run on the phone. Only complaints from customers created the App Store and opened the door for developers. Jobs was bad for Apple in the beginning but ended up being great on his second run through. But the point of this post is to say that Jobs had his problems, too. He didn't like styluses, nor did he want iPhones to grow beyond 3.5" screens. Jobs was still into high prices. I am no fan of Tim Cook, but he's done no worse for Apple than Jobs would have done had he lived.

It took Tim Cook 5 - 7 years to figure out that Apple can’t just ignore the Mac. Now Apple is finally releasing modern iMac Pros, Mac Minis and soon to be the Mac Pro. But Cook decided to raise the prices as well. THIS IS A HUGE MISTAKE. I won’t spend $20,000 on a Mac Pro. That’s insane. If the iPhone starts to fail the company will shrink. Apple way overpriced, lacks innovation, doesn't seem to care about users and is focused on profit. The greed will drive apple into the ground if they aren't careful. Need to wipe the slate clean with a new refreshed lineup.

Apple wasn't used to be like that tbh, yes it can at a premium, but it had all the features that 99% of people would ask for in a simplified package. Ever since Tim Cook took over, it offered a bit more on the options side, but it also introduced user hostile changes that pissed a lot of people off. Now, they are just further complicating it as it begins to be more and more un-user friendly which isn't the old apple that I know of.

This happens when you don't care about students and average consumer who makes 85% of the market. Build phones 256 gb under 1000$ and macbooks under 1500$. Focus on this area of market other wise Apple will be doomed.

I think my next tablet will be a Samsung the iPad is not worth the pricetag with iOS 11/12 being as buggy as they are

Removing the earphone jack was the start of the rot. Classic practical design thats been around for about 100 years and Apple tries to make it obsolete. Their arrogant approach to the customer shall be their downfall.

Tim cook needs to shape up or ship out. Apple was a promising product until 2015. 4 years in and there aren't much improvements in their products. The benchmark of their products don't even have that much big differences compared to the predecessors. Adding some useless bells and whistles, hyping the marketing up, and inflating the price will not fool consumers in the long run. I miss the Steve Jobs days.

I was there when they started making their first ipods, from the viewpoint of people who built their own pc's back in the day, not only could you not even build an apple pc but the prices were ridiculous. anybody who knew about computers back then would pass on this overpriced thing. it's karma because now hardcore apple customers know now what we knew back then, it's proprietary ridiculousness

-Too many products: decision fatigue -Confusing naming conventions -astronomically high prices OK, I just had an epiphany. Apple is currently testing waters. They are going to jack up the prices until customers are no longer willing to pay up. It will be at that point that Apple will know exactly how much they can charge for their products and adjust their prices accordingly. Right now they don't really know how much people would be willing to pay for their products and in order to maximize the profits, they have to do this. They are on a quest to find the market equilibrium. I see it, now.

This is not a test, no company would risk the profit and money just to run a test. Most companies test theories and ideas through research and piolet tests.

But they are not really failing. Still making a ton of money. The Apple brand has infinitely more clout than all other tech companies. And because of that, customers everywhere will aspire to owning Apple products. So the only fail I see immediately is your failure to see the obvious.

@@cmac4601 Apple is only making money because their raising the prices of their products. They can only go to a certain limit where people will not buy their products, even though it has clout. When you reach that point, Apple will not survive unless they can come up with new tech.
