PPG Paints arena isn't that old it was built in 2010. PNC Park doesn't need a thing done to it, i agree there and as for Heniz field (and yes i'm still calling it that because its new name is stupid) it does need to be updated, i agree there as well. It was built in 2001 and other than adding more seats to the south end, there really hasn't been much change overall to it, but with stadiums like that there is only so much you can do to it. The only real major improvements you can make are to the north and south ends, which you see a lot of stadiums built in that era do, like what Cleveland and New England did for example.

If the Sixers new arena gets approved and built, it would be the first time since 1970 that one of the big 4 Philly sports teams plays outside of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.

I think all 3 of Pittsburgh's venues are here to stay. They'll out live me for sure. Heinz is the weakest out of the bunch but even then it's still more than passable. PPG is really nice for what is, there's not much that can be done with NHL/NBA arenas to make them unique, but the Penguins have done well. Suit 66 and the new clubs by the locker rooms are cool. PNC though is an absolute gem and should never be touched. Lived here all my life and I just went to a Pirate game and its beauty still stunned me walking in. Honorable mention to Highmark Stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, there's not much to it but its on the south side (PNC and Heinz are on the north for reference) and it uses the city as a back drop well. I hope the Maulers play there and they expand its seating so it turns into more of a proper stadium instead of a field

Pirates should put a pirate ship feature in center field and fire the fake cannons for every homerun just like the Tampa Bay Bucs. Temple should get a 30k seat stadium on campus. You didn't mention Villanova basketball arena and seriously a roof on Lincoln Financial Field? Football is played outdoors.
@rwboa22 Жыл бұрын
In terms of Temple Football, while a 30k seat stadium is great, given that Temple home games must be scheduled around Philadelphia Eagles away games (although it is possible for Lincoln Financial Field grounds crews to convert the Linc from Temple Football to Eagles Football, much like when the LA Rams shared the LA Memorial Colosseum with USC before SoFi Stadium was completed), the problem would be is the location: Temple University proper is located in North Philadelphia near where the A's and Phillies use to play their home games (Shibe Park/Connie Mack Stadium); North Philly, unlike the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, is not quite a decent neighborhood to place a 30k NCAA Division I-A at. The Linc, at least in terms of capacity, is very large, and if Temple wants to go with something of a smaller capacity, they should look at Subaru Park in nearby Chester, PA, where the MLS Philadelphia Union plays their home matches. My opinion, Temple Football needs to stay in South Philly and Temple should look into booking non-conference games with teams that would draw in crowds (such as Penn State, Notre Dame, Brigham Young, Colorado, etc.).

The one thing I dislike about Citizen's Bank Park is the brick behind home plate is so dirty. It never looks clean. The mortar in between the bricks looks terrible. I don't know why they don't clean it up. They just cover up most of it with ad spaces.
@NathanMoist Жыл бұрын
If you look at it in 2004 when the stadium opened it looked the same. I don’t think it’s dirty I just think the mortar was never white for some reason. Which is weird because I questioned it myself before and had to look it up.

Nah as someone who lives in pgh its way overrated and underhated. Its a tin can with a mountain of an upper deck, bleachers in the endzone upper deck, open to the river gusts and lets everyone get blasted by November/december winds, abhorrent playing surface, etc. Barely any character outside of the hall of fame. Even the bright yellow seats let you see how many people dont leave the tailgate. Always been baffled at the praise it gets personally. PNC & Consol/PPG are the shit though. Very impressive venues, no bad seats in PPG

There is nothing better than being right off the highway and not having to fight to find a parking space. Go to Pittsburgh and other downtown venues and try and find parking sometime. In Philly people care about the action on the field not the views behind it.

76ers Place at Market East is a GREAT place to have an arena! SEPTA's Regional Rail Line and the Market-Frankford Lines are right there for transportation if car traffic is a concern. This would be a win-win for Chinatown's struggling restaurant scene and would give Center City a much needed boost economy wise! The Temple Owls DESPERATELY need a stadium of it's own!!! Franklin Field and The Palestra are local iconic gems!
