Here’s another tip: spasms get worse when you are under a lot of stress! So, #1 prescription should be to eliminate as much stress as possible in your life and see what happens. I speak from personal experience.

One of the down sides of Botox injection is that when the effect is gone the spasms and tics come back even worse. So not a good treatment. Not even temporary since it doesn’t address the base and reasons for the disease. The best treatment for this disorder is Acupuncture. There is a huge advantage in using acupuncture as the treatment: firstly it relaxes the relevant nerve and even repairs some of the damage occurred. Secondly by creating a general mental relaxation takes the stress away from the patient that helps to control the disease. I have used it for my nerve damage and worked perfectly. I did it for 10 sessions. Try it, nothing to lose but everything to gain.

I’m suffering from these spasms ..... and it hurts so bad that all I can do is close my eyes, and breath. Nothing more .... it hurts so bad that I wanna cry but I can’t cause I’m like paralysed.... I’m just screaming in the inside till it stops . Meditation helps .. but I need to get rid of this. It’s been years since I’m suffering from this.

I have noticed a spasm in my bottom lip (cant be seen) but I feel it almost like a cramp. I have been under stress for over a year over a family illness but I have a history of sensory small stroke. Should I speak to my GP. Can it be caused by increased antidepressant?

What causes something to press against the nerve?

From another youtube video, apparently blood vessels keep getting longer with age, ever so slowly. In some people, this growth leads to compression over time, i.e. blood vessels start to meander like old rivers.

It won't stop, sorry to say. I've had my hemi facial spasm now for 13 yrs. It sucks. Try the finger pressure method on your face. I also place 2 fingers on my palse. It definitely works. Crazy as it sounds

Pressing with your fingers on or near the spasm can stop it. Continuous pressure will give you relief for a little while once you take the fingers away

@@benjamincampos7083 yeah it's very annoying. I've had to deal with the problem for 13 yrs. Crazy as it sounds, by putting two fingers on my pulse at the neck stops the twitch aswell
