See there's more information in this 3 minute video than I've been told in 30 since I started getting these types of migraine after a tbi during a football match. The hemiplegia involved during a migraine can be the most scary few days of anyone's life who's never had one before. Keep up the great work on this KZbin channel because you leave nothing out including the fact that you should seek medical assistance if you loose your sight, speech and have any type of numbness with a headache 🙏

@@mediacenterman8583 I couldn't even do that I wish we could not move accepted sway myself to one side so with my good side I could grab my arm because it felt like someone was driving a state through the palm of my hand and it wouldn't stop I thought if I just stay still little stop but I can you know cause I had no idea what was going on I think I just passed out from the pain in the end like it was just so bad like I'm literally was paralysed on one side for 4 hours before I passed out and I was literally just couldn't do anything and people kept asking you know when you call an ambulance I was like I couldn't actually move like I was literally paralyzed on one side

Before puberty mine were simple, little to no pain but i had numbness, fever, fatigue and light headaches after. After puberty they just got horribly worse, numbness on one side of my face, or my arm or just my fingers and hand. The pain always occurs on the opposite side from the numbness. This would be combined with visual aura. Then when the pain would set in it was so horrible I would vomit. I went to the ER so many times and they just said it was a migraine and gave me a shot of pain meds and something to keep me from throwing up. I would have trouble thinking, speaking and not once did they suspect a stroke or check me for one. They just treated the migraine kept me for a couple hours and then sent me home. I am now 47 and this year I was finally able to see a neurologist. She immediately told me not to take the Triptan that my primary had prescribed and ordered a CT scan. Which thankfully showed everything looked good. I have FHM. My mother suffered from them and now I get them. I do not know if she got the numbness but I do know she was a migraine sufferer. I really think more ER Doctors need to be aware of this type of migraine.

I had a migraine yesterday that exacerbated into stroke-like symptoms early this morning. I lost control of the muscles in the right side of my face, bizarre eye blinking and eye rolling, with a bizarre speech pattern that was really drawn out.. The ER doctor said it was anxiety or panic attack.😒 I've never felt migraine pain in that way before. When I got home I spent some time trying to find a specialist, the slept the rest of the day. Now I'm really foggy with occasional stuttering (which I haven't had before) and a really foggy mind. I gave a receptionist a phone number I haven't had for ten years while trying to schedule an appointment.

Ya got mine at 29. Went in the ED thinking a TIA, came out with this Diagnosis after ctscan. Mine always start the same, start off with visual changes left sided numbers and tingling and weakness. Than it slowly shifts to the right side and ends with a headache and feeling exhausted. Get about 4 a year.

Mine started when I was 28. I had just stopped 4 years of birth control so that could have triggered them or been treating them for the 4 years. I didn’t know they were hemiplegic, I thought this is how migraines were for everyone who got them. Was even put on meds for regular migraines which made the hemiplegic ones worse until I said that my left sided arm and leg pain and weakness was getting unbearable and I was having pain and muscle weakness between the migraines as well.

i’ve had these since i was a young kid but sort of ignored them they were confusing but didn’t get in the way they started to get worse when i turned 12 and then by the time i was 15 i could barley go about my day without having multiple attacks, and the headaches that came before and after were getting worse as well. Eventually we decided to bring it up with my doctor and she recommended me to a neurologist, the neurologist diagnosed me with hemiplegic migraine and prescribed me toprimate. i’ve been taking toprimate for a year now and as long as i take them regularly i no longer have attacks.

I am in the process of getting diagnosed for sudden onset for unilateral parasthesia and paralysis. 2 sets of episodes, one lasting 3 weeks and then next lasting 2 weeks. Symptoms occur for 30 seconds to 5 minutes and can happen 1-10 times per day. Then it suddenly stops. Each time my episodes hit I was sick with Covid and the second time with Flu A. Brain and spine MRI just finished and waiting to see the neurologist again. If it happens again I will go to the ER to get an EEG done which should hopefully help diagnose and/or rule out. These symptoms are terrifying and I was initially diagnosed with a TIA. Go to the ER if you have these symptoms and advocate for yourself.

I have the sporadic migraine. I get weakness on my right side and I have brain fog and changes in consciousness. That one is the scary part. During my first one, I completely lost 4 hours in time. Just had quick in and out memories. There was a big rule out stroke investigation, which was complicated by the fact that in an MRI I have Migraine Dots, which happen in people who have severe migraines. It is scary because there is a 3 generation high incidence of strokes. I’m already on lamotrigine for something else and it has helped decrease the incidents of them.

My best friend has familial hemiplegic migraines. Well, all I know is that it happened once but she still suffered numbness and headaches after, It was very scary. But the worst part is we were scheduled to work the day after and the person we were working for, her dad, didn't believe that she actually had one. We ended up working that day and a bunch of awful things happened. If your wondering what happened i told the whole story in a comment on the check point of the internet, aka kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3a3h2WAg6ebmcU&ab_channel=Oxijinn
