The basic gods areTRIDEV i.e. Lord Bramha, Vishnu and Mahesh ( shivji) .Ram and Krishna , Hanuman are their avtars ( human forms who took birth on the Earth) so when one worships Lord Ram we worships Tridev. We worship all gods. But , In Hinduism we have different festivals related to different gods. F. Example- if one person worships God Vishnu , on the festival of Mahashivratri( God shivas festival) he also worships Lord Shiva, on the occasion of Ganesh festival , he worships Lord Ganesh. Navratri ( the festival of Goddess) is celebrated all over India. Even if theirs forms are different, their roles and responsibilities are different, all gods and goddesses are related to each other. In Hindism, you can worship god or become his devotee even if you are not woorshipping the idols. But most of the Hindu Sanatanis like to worship idols of their gods.
